After renting through Walton and Hipkiss for iver 4 years, I can say that issues raised were not dealt with even after being highlighted on the annual property inspection and agreed with by the viewing agent. Always sided with the landlord. "if it didn't work when you moved in the landlord doesn't have to fix it" was repeatedly used.... Unfortunately when you move in you don't know that various sockets dont work, non of the aerial points work, alarm system doesn't work etc etc. No assistance at all from them in finding a new property to rent after being given notice by the landlord because he wanted to sell it. I even offered to purchase it from the landlord saving him money in advertising it etc but was told no, only for it to go on sale weeks later for a price that I would have paid.... But they would not have got their commission that way. I received more help from their sales team, that I do rate 5 stars, but unfortunately their letting agents fall short.
I have nothing but praise for Walton & Hipkiss. From the very beginning they were professional, efficient and worked hard to sell my house! Nothing was too much trouble. Janis was always there with updates and spent time talking me through the process.She even listened when I was moaning about all the things I had to do! The journey was emotional and I couldn’t have been in safer hands to guide me. You can really feel that this is a family business and not one of the corporate chains out there. They really care and offer the best guidance. I’m now happy and settled in my wonderful dream home, yet I’m still popping in to see Janis for a cup of tea and a chat about my new home. (I’m a bit rubbish with redirecting my parcels and Janis has again stepped in to help me with this). If you are looking for a rental property then I could not recommend Walton and Hipkiss any higher! So often as a tenant you can feel marginalised and like a second class citizen. All of the staff at W&H go out of their way to make sure this is not the case. They actively listen and make sure you are looked after as a tenant to the very best of their ability. Such lovely to people to do business with.
We have received brilliant service from Walton & Hipkiss, both when purchasing our property, and then from the lettings team when sourcing tenants. Eleanor managed to find tenants for all 3 apartments within a matter of days. Moreover, they are communicative and friendly, more so than the vast majority of their counterparts in the industry, and we would definitely recommend their services to others.
