To be avoided if you have a long term health condition. They are unsympathetic, cold and uncaring. All they care about is processes. They don’t listen to patients and have no interest in helping people. I have experienced this from all staff types on multiple occasions. The culture is rotten. This practice needs blacklisting.
been in this drs for 2 yrs, the drs in holmfirth allowed you access to you own records. not here. the receptionists are extremely un helpful, the dr actually disbelieves you when your explaining your issue. your pushed from pillar to post and now left in a painful and uncomfortable issue which can take months to sort. i choose this on reviews and i am sorely disappointed but what do we expect from the nhs?. definitely rethink using this drs. 2 yrs of just messing around and receptionists who seem to have god complex. avoid if you care about your health and well being.
Slaithwaite Health Centre is brilliant. I always seem to end up seeing the same GPs, both Dr Olivers and Dr Ferguson who are all fantastic and seem to genuinely care. I’ve never struggled to get a same day appointment if required, they have a great service where prescriptions can be delivered to your door and the responses to the E consult forms are very quick. All the staff are lovely. Highly recommend.
I asked at reception to see some of my records from the 1950's and the older lady with long grey hair (Dawn?) was very obliging and efficient. She appeared within a few minutes with the details I required & said she'd update my records. Thankyou.
Great GP practice. As a practice nurse myself for a different surgery I am aware of the immense pressure the NHS and primary care is currently under. This surgery is (although very busy) very good at getting patients in for appointments when appropriate and dealing with less urgent reviews over the phone. I have had no issues with requesting my medication or seeing a doctor when needed. Reception sometimes do sound stressed but they are always polite and the nurse I saw recently for travel vaccinations was friendly and professional. All in all I think they're doing a great job in the current climate.
A Very Good Service. Phone answered with miminum delay and the appropriate help offered. Very clean Surgery and facilities.
After waiting for my appointment for around 40 minutes, I went to reception to politely ask how long I might be waiting and was told it wouldn’t be long. After another 15 minutes, a near enough empty surgery with the few that were coming through the door being seen before me, I went to ask again. This time, by chance the doctor I was meant to be seeing appeared and didn’t know I was even here for an appointment. I am writing this as I still sit waiting in the surgery… I’m waiting for the doctor to actually see me and hour and 20 minutes after my appointment. So if you come across a lady covered in dust and cobwebs in the corner of the waiting room, it will be me, still sat here waiting for my appointment.
Having moved to the area after being with a very subpar surgery for a few years, what a breath of fresh air this is. The surgery itself is spotlessly clean, staff very friendly and helpful, and the 2 doctors and 1 nurse I have spoken with so far been empathetic, kind and patient. I'm sure that like any overstretched NHS service right now they would struggle at peak times or perhaps urgent services, and yes of course the phone system has a queue, but so far for managing ongoing conditions they've been great.
I have nothing bad to say about this practice! If I have any problems, I just complete an e-consult form on the website. I have always had a quick response, first thing the next day in most cases, once on the same day! Staff are helpful and friendly, and I have had follow up calls after appointments to check how I am doing, which makes you feel well cared for.
