Had two surgeries here. The first one went good start to finish, dissolving stitches were used, and scar healed well. The second was not the best experience. Despite having a thorough consultation again on the day of operation, we also went through what was done on the first operation given the fact that everything went well i was told they was going to be doing the exact same for the second which i was happy with. To my surprise after having my coverings off I found the stitches used were the ones that needed to be physically removed. I noticed my wound started to ooze a yellow liquid and was opening itself. I contacted Holme valley and was booked an appointment the following week/two to come back in. At my appointment the lady who was one of the main people present for the second op looked at my scar and said it’s fine. The other surgeon who was present also had a look but said he wasn’t sure why different stitches were used as we all agreed to using the dissolving ones and when he had a look through my consultation and consent forms he pointed out that it was all written on there as well. I was sent me on my way with no cream or anything to help heal the open wound and once the rest of my stitches were removed/fell out there was nothing else more that was done so my second scar has healed horribly. The part where the stitches split and opened has healed wider than the rest also like a keloid scar I was given some silicone patches by them on my final appointment but they didn’t do much so I still try different stuff to try improve it’s appearance.

Absolutely fantastic service by all the staff here. Had an operation on my hand. From pre op appointment to the actual operation its been a pleasant experience. Had to say that I was made to feel important and safe when I was operated on. All the staff were lovely, cannot fault at all. Everyone treated as an equal, with respect and dignity.

Reception staff are very rude to there patients and leave you feeling very upset in the leg and foot department. Patrick one of the nurse specialists who work in that department where I went because of long term foot and leg pain was very rude and patronising, kept raising his voice ,didn't even want to read my notes I brought with me when I suffer with brain fog from my conditions, looked at me like dirt,he couldn't care less.my appointment was meant to last 45 minutes but I was out with 20 minutes. You are meant to feel hopeless. All he suggested was ultra sound scan .his attitude left me upset and I don't want to go there again. It was an unpleasant experience and I'm reporting this to health watch for definite. You get judged and patronised for having depression or because you forget things through not fault of your own .if someone has memory problems they shouldn't judge you for that there so sarcastic. Anyone with depression or mental health or if you have Autism , learning disabilities or any disabilities be warned you will be patronised and discriminated Suffering from dementia symptoms made this doctor laugh not respect at all. Good luck to anyone attending this place .The staff are not very nice and you may feel upset upon leaving if you get treated unfairly and egnored and if you get discriminated against because of your disabilities. Staff here need to learn some manners and respect there patients.its attitudes are appauling and disgusting.

I went for a reassessment after waiting 6 month's after a operation on my right foot I've struggled with foot pain for 30 years plus taking account this is somebody who can't really walk far ie walking on holidays etc after spending all my childhood bouncing on my toes the two young ladies who assessed me were quite unpleasant to be fair only did an ultrasound on my joints nothing else went on to tell I need some comfort insoles so I then went on to tell them that I'd had a few pairs of insoles over the years and and that I don't accept that it took me 48 minutes to get there and then an hour to get home so I got a stressed and got up and left the young trainee nurse shouted WE DID OUR BEST you know who you are not very professional i would think don't go to this hospital if vulnerable or suffer from any mind problems like autism or adhd or ptsd there not very nice to you yours Mr Hutton

I attended the mobile unit for a joint injection. I was extremely nervous as needles are my biggest fear. I had no need to worry, everybody involved in my care were excellent. Very caring, explained everything clearly and even held my hand (very welcome to calm my nerves) I cannot thank the team enought, they were absolutely fantastic. Thank you.
