Avoid!!! Trying to return a damaged order. Cannot be done through the website (even though that's what they say you should do), it just comes up with a message to contact customer service. However, you cannot reach customer service by phone, it just tells you to complete returns via the website or email them. They do not answer to emails, I have been waiting for over a week now! Tried to phone to get through to customer service again, no success. Would never order from them again, it's not worth the hassle. I am over £60 out of pocket for an item which is damaged and I had to get a replacement elsewhere. I would be surprised if I ever get my money back! Definitely avoid this company! Update: After I managed to get through to the sales team (no other option gets you through which really tells you all about their priorities!), and sent them photos of the damaged item, I have been waiting for 5 working days and still no reply, let alone a refund. This is getting worse and worse. Zero stars would be more appropriate! Their customers service is not just terrible, it's non-existent!

Bought the royal python platinum starter kit. Whilst most of the basics arrived like the viv, and heating elements. I am missing the cave hide I only recieved one so I am going to need to buy an extra hide so there is one each side, the aquarium sealant and the moss. whilst said the image doesn’t exactly represent what’s in the kit, feels very misleading to put there if it would not be included in some variation inside the kit. there was one singular piece of plant decoration which directly goes against the description which says there will be a selection of plants which there is not. The delivery was delayed which I had no problem with as it is a very busy time due to the black friday sales, however there was no communication provided to let me know it was delayed. I am happy with the basics provided which is why I gave a 2 star the actual vivarium arrived in good quality no problems there. but i’m unhappy with the items missing, now I’m going to have to spend more money on what was missing in the kit.

bought aquarium nearly £400 arrived in bad/damaged condition, this was on 22/10/2025 I'm awaiting a refund today is 17/11/2025, no urgency to resolve , constant lies, delays AVOID I'm not the only person to receive this bad service/customer care.

I bought a leatherback bearded dragon and the staff were incredibly useful in store. They gave guidance on caring and ensured the vivarium was set up correctly. They provide liver food for her free of charge too. I understand they are getting a lot of poor reviews due to delivery issues, I've had one myself but Swell cannot be fully responsible as delivery companies play a role in this. My recommendation is go into the shop as the experience is fantastic. Thanks Swell :)

Ordered frozen feeder rodents, was not given any tracking information for the delivery. The parcel was returned to the depot and marked as missed delivery, even though we were in all day! The driver never even knocked on the door. 3 days later the parcel was redelivered and just left in the garden in the rain (again we were in the house!). By this time everything was completely defrosted and rotten. Company refuses to do anything about it and keeps claiming that they are not liable. I am out £60 and have had to go buy elsewhere. The parcel was also badly packaged and is doubtful that it would have stayed frozen even 24 hours (1 tiny ice pack and a cardboard box). Absoult joke of a company, don't waste your money.

I ordered a vivarium it arrived with chips and parts missing I sent it back and waited for store credit. This process took about 3 weeks I then ordered the same product with trust it was going to arrive ok. It arrived promptly however, still chips etc in the wood work and when it come to adding the doors they don’t fit. Would not recommend if I could go back I would have shopped elsewhere due to the length of time it’s taken and the poor produce for the high price.

Brilliant place to visit. Well stocked and plenty to choose from. We went for a lamp for our tortoise table and the staff were really helpful and knew exactly what we needed. Also helped us with a new substrate and a thermometer. There was plenty of parking too so it was easy to load the car. I can recommend Swell reptiles and will definitely be going again.

I order live food bugs, have done a few times now, they are good quality. The lost stars are because I pay £3.99 for 1-2 day delivery, but have NEVER received my order in less than 4 days! It's even taken longer. If you can't actually achieve 2 day delivery, don't say so!

Purchased most of my set up on swell online and they arrived on time and fast delivery with great customer service. We went a head and bought our leopard gecko from their shop with amazing staff who don’t just hand animals out for the fun of it, they have the knowledge and care for each animal. For the lady who helped me out I thank you it was much appreciated. Would highly highly recommend.
