Visited the Standish store today. Lovely ‘can do’ attitude and were really helpful, well stocked, good value prices & a great change from roaming the aisles of anonymous DIY superstores.

Best hardware store with the best staff that you'll ever go to. Seriously, you can't go wrong. Forget A & P - one letter later, so B & .........., ,, these are the guys and lady (blonde lady on the till now) that you need. Proper attention to detail and advice about anything and everything and you will be surprised at what they do sell band can source. Give them a go before going anywhere else, I always have done and have always got what I needed. Can't fault the team there, thank you all.
Visited this shop for the first time a couple of weeks ago to look at interior doors and handles on the recommendation of my joiner. Spoke to a lovely guy who showed us a good selection for us to consider. Returned the following day and were dealt with by Lewis who was extremely helpful. The doors he showed to us were excellent quality for a very good price and we ordered 6 doors and handles etc. Less than a week later Lewis rang and texted me to say they had arrived. I called into the store and Lewis showed me the handles (which we had ordered from a catalogue) and they were very good quality. We agreed a delivery date. I will definitely be returning here for any of my future DIY needs. Great local store with very friendly and helpful staff.

DIY is a very serious business to me and to be honest I knew little or nothing about repairing or replacing anything beyond the very basics,but now thanks to the fantasticly informative and "novice" friendly service at the Handyman's Stores I have gained many new skills in the plumbing and general household repairs there is an endless amount of tools and equipment and supplies available, so a huge thank you to all the guys in the shop and long may you remain the Number One DIY store in Wigan Lancashire.
