   Showed the guy a picture if the haircut I wanted and he gave me something completely different. I have curly hair and wanted shorter curly hair. He gave me a side parting and straightened my hair. Standard male haircut #1 I guess. I had to fix it myself with scissors when I got home. He had absolutely no interest in discussing what I wanted or any sort of pleasantries. I think he said about 10 words the whole time was in. He also ignored the ringing phone the whole time and was very curt with other customers.

   Had the worst blow dry I have ever had in my life. The lady had no idea what she was doing, seemed very inexperienced and struggled with my hair for 1 hour . The style was absolutely horrendous in the end. I told them although I rarely complain , but they still charged me for it. Very disappointed.

   Had my hair done for the first time this morning at The Villager and I will definitely be back. The whole team are lovely and Billy makes you feel like a super star! I’ve never had such a professional opinion/advice from a hair salon like this EVER! He really helps understand what you’re after and then more. I’m more than pleased with my hair and the experience as a whole. Amazing team and customer service, can’t wait to see you again!

   Having gained a lockdown mane resembling Merida from Brave, I booked an appointment with Billy including colour. On walk in I got a glass of wine which was perfect on a Friday night and de-stressing from work! Billy was so friendly and welcoming. He asked lots of questions about me and my hair so we could discuss options that were suitable. We decided together what would be the best cut and colour which I really appreciated. The outcome was amazing and has given me a real boost. Fantastic service and loved the results. Went from a frizzy mess to a tamed hairstyle that I can manage at home. Highly recommend coming here.

   It was my first visit over the weekend and I cannot compliment them enough. Diana looked after my hair and she honestly did the most amazing job. I feel like a new person and could not be happier. Their customer service is incredible. I was a bit worse for wear after a few too many glasses of wine the night before and they even went and got me a sandwich to help me through. Thanks so much. You guys were great and I cant wait to visit again!

   I’m sad to say I didn’t have a good experience here. I hate leaving a bad review so I apologise, but I felt this one was necessary. I’d really hoped to find and support a local place in these difficult times. The hairdresser didn’t know what hidden layers were and laughed that she’d just be putting the normal layers back in. She scoffed when I mentioned I have a top ear piercing and would appreciate if she could avoid it with the brush, told me I couldn’t have the hairstyle in the photo I showed for the sort of look I was going for because the model’s hair was a lot thicker than mine. She asked me where I wanted my parting only after I’d had my hair cut and didn’t brush the parting in after the wash. The blow dry not only looked bad but was quite painful as the brush was twisted against my neck and forehead and my scalp kept getting burnt as she kept the hairdryer in the same position. The haircut itself just looks a bit shoddy and dated. I’m really sad I didn't experience the helpfulness and kindness of the staff as mentioned in other reviews. I found the atmosphere quite cold and unwelcoming when I came in - the hairdresser sat down and played with my hair without asking what I wanted or initiating the consultation. Perhaps this was just an off day for them, but I’m afraid the experiment for me didn’t work out.

   Have been using this fabulous salon for the past 3 years and I can honestly say, the loveliest and talented peeps work here! My go to lady is The gorgeous Diana. She’s just so amazing with her colouring - my beliage is just so natural looking I let lots of compliments on it. Kids dry cuts are also a dream here. Give them a go. You won’t be disappointed!
