   Went to Burcough branch, served by Joel and Leo who both went above and beyond to source and acquire 'one' 30x30 paving stone which we needed to complete our paving. They were so helpful and well mannered. Thank you and well done lads you are a credit to yourselves. Again had tried Formby and ended up at another branch.

   So the last few times I've tried to buy something from here Ive looked for some of the lads in yard but not been able to find anyone or they've been busy ...so I've attend the counter as I wasn't purchasing a lot of material in fact only a bag of ready-mix sand n cement and I've been sent packing to find a lad outside to write a ticket ? Which of course I couldn't find ...if this is now your new policy employ some more lads for the yard otherwise your going to lose business

   Messy exterior- waste escape everywhere due to plastics from product packaging stored outside blowing out of the company site- through palisade fencing, on to green verges and other spaces. This is apparently also getting caught in local hedges and remains caught there. One suggestion is to take initiative to use a low mesh fencing to protect site from waste escape and maybe send staff on rota out for five minutes to collect/ retrieve plastics. There are big some positives like the enclosed Biffa skip on site but there is also an open skip which allows wind to blow waste out everywhere. The store is well run apart from this ongoing issue, which has gone on for many years and looks bad, because the company policy claims to be very responsible about green issues and footprint.

   Visited this site 2 weeks ago to buy some blue slate was told they didn’t have any in burscough but did in formby so I travelled a 20 mile trip to their other store to pick up the slate which I needed. I then opened the packet to find that it actually contained plum slate. So I travelled to the burscough shop to return it today as I assumed with the shop baring the huws gray name that they would return their own products but no. They wanted me to travel to formby - another 20 mile trip to return what was essentially a faulty item. Very poor customer service

   This yard looks really messy and uncared for, due to various plastic packaging waste & litter all over and messy entrance spoils things. Appears irresponsible and no pride in business.

   The lad on the gate was very helpful and polite BUT counter staff were just terrible, no eye contact, no manners. I gave my £500 order to the competitor down the road. These lads are either poorly trained or under too much pressure. Either way you lost my business.

   Customer service at its worst. Both the counter and the yard staff are devoid of social skill, personality and good manners. The only exception to them is the young lady called Sam who has manners, is very pleasant and can use a Hi Ab very skillfully on her deliveries. If you want any sort of customer service drive another 30 seconds up the road and go to Firwood building supplies on the same estate
