Sunday lunch was amazing. First visit but not last!! I had gammon and kids portion as I don’t have a massive appetite. £6.95 and still couldn’t eat it all. I would’ve liked my roasters a bit darker but that’s the only negative thing I’d say. Everything was fresh, proper carrots, cabbage and mash. My sister had the beef and adult portion. Looked liked she’d not touched it, such big portions. We were recommended to go here, now we know why!

Visited The Upton Arms for Sunday lunch and was warmly greeted by the landlady and the staff. Food was top notch, piping hot and delicious. Staff was welcoming and punctual and did everything they could to ensure we had the best experience. Also tried the chocolate sponge with custard which was an excellent ending to a fantastic dinner. All in all a great meal and brilliant service. Would highly recommend and without a doubt a place I will be revisiting in the near future!

Food is way over priced gravy is like water and the roasters are soaked in oil. Would not recommend , no I am not trying to ruin a business either! The staff were friendly and polite! It was more the quality of the food which every restaurant does different and I do understand that! I did have to stand and wait with my baby in my arms for a high chair after asking 4 times though , my table was mucky and had a spider dangling from the ceiling which is why as you may have noticed every plate other than one had the same amount off food on it that it had on at the start! Sorry if this is a problem but I wish I would have read more off the reviews before attending thank you

After driving 300 miles to visit my daughter who lives in Upton (i live in Scotland but came from south Elmsall) I thought it would be a good idea to take everyone out for a drink and a meal, bought two drinks to start with as we were waiting until the others arrived, bar staff couldn’t work out if they were able to take uk money?? After keeping my wife waiting at the bar standing with the drinks until they could decide what to do and meanwhile having other staff running around trying to find the manager who never turned up. I decided to just pay contactless and leave, I’m glad we did, as while leaving we were recommended not to buy the Carvery as it wasn’t fit for the dog. We went to the Barnsley oak instead had a lovely drink together, sadly couldn’t have food as they’d stopped serving but they did take our UK money and were very friendly. Ended up going to a stone house pub in Doncaster road had an amazing meal and all were happy. They too took UK money. So Upton arms, £200 went somewhere else instead of your till. We wouldn’t come again or recommend you, neither will my daughter or friends who live in Upton. This is probably the only bad review I’ve ever put in, but when businesses don’t care about their customers and treat them like we were treated i have no sympathy. We visited Sunday 14/8/22, my uk money would include Scottish notes sorry but i was unable to reply to managers comments.
