For the second time we have stayed this was for my 60th birthday Stuart Helen and Jo were absolutely fantastic there was a baby alpaca born on my birthday and they asked me to name him it was amazing would recommend too any and can't wait to book again thank so much from Marie Phil and Arron
Me and a groups of friends stayed here to celebrate a friends 30th. We were really excited to use the hot tub especially, that was one of the main reasons we decided to stay here. However, on our first night, 2 members of the group (one being me) came out with what only can be described as chemical burns from the chlorine. We have all used hot tubs multiple times before and never had this issue. We raised the issue with the hosts and they replied and came to check the levels while we were out and diluted the hot tub. The 3 who didn’t receive chemical burns used the hot tub 1 more time for a short period of time but the 2 with burns didn’t. After our stay we raised the issue with the hosts and air bnb as we felt we deserved some form of compensation. The hosts did not respond to any of air BnBs messages and now have claimed they never received them, saying to us via WhatsApp that they don’t deal with airbnb which seems very confusing as that’s how we booked the stay. The host did try calling us, but we declined the call because, as they have called us liars, we want to keep communication via text so we have proof of messages. Also we did not demand a refund in full, we were looking for a compromise but the host is a liar and uncooperative. From initial contact when we reported the burns (a month ago) we haven’t even received an apology. Didn’t want to leave a review like this but have tried communicating with the host and got nowhere. The house its self is lovely but would not recommend using the hot tub during your stay.
Don’t use the hot tub!! 4 friends and I stayed here for a 30th weekend getaway. During our stay everything (apart from the hot tub) was lovely, the lady onsite was very helpful. Unfortunately, due to improper chemical balancing in the hot tub two of the group got chemical burns from using the it, crag hill cottage have no risk assessment for the chemicals they use which is very concerning. My friends have never had this issue in previous hot tubs. Obviously this affected our stay and they didn’t use the hot tub again, the ones without burns only did briefly, once more, after the hot tub was diluted. After leaving we raised this issue through air bnb, as they couldn’t get a response from the host we couldn’t get any form of compensation for the burns and potential scarring. I contacted the business owner and they refuse to help and frankly don’t care about the injuries sustained.
Myself and a group of friends stayed at The Old Piggery, and on balance had an alright stay. However, two members of our group got bad chemical burns from the hot tub, which was the main reason we had booked the property - preventing us from using it throughout our stay. Neither of the people with burns have reacted to chlorine before in hot tubs, so is likely a case of improper dilution. We had thought that the water felt slimy when we got in, however there was nothing in the risk assessment that stated the risks of chemical burns, or how to detect improper dilution. The burns were of such a concern that one of our party went to the doctor's to get it checked out, and both are worried it will permanently scar. We tried to resolve this with the host, and through Air BnB, however we were fully ignored, and Air BnB cannot assist if the host is uncooperative. Would not recommend, if you stay and have issues I have little faith the host will be cooperative.

Stayed at the old hen shed. Lovely place, looks like a hen shed from the outside, however inside it’s modern , cosy and spotless, under floor heating, en-suite bathrooms, tv in every bedroom, would definitely stay here again now I know how to find it. My only criticism is that there is no signage at the top of the lane, I arrived late evening and it was pitch dark, you have lovely accommodation put a sign up directing people to it off the main road, definitely stay again though.

Had a lovely week' staying in the piggery. Plenty of room . Nice patio with table and chairs 'the hot tub was great.
