I visited this salon for a hair curling service, and I am utterly disappointed with the result. The stylist seemed inexperienced and didn’t even recognize that hair curls should be done in alternating directions. Instead, she curled both sides of my hair in the same direction, which not only looked awkward but also gave my hair a very unnatural appearance. When I pointed this out, her response was shockingly dismissive. She suggested I could simply "play with my hair" to make it look better. Seriously? How can a professional hairdresser not know the basic technique of curling hair properly? To make matters worse, this mishap completely ruined my event. I was looking forward to a special occasion, and instead, I left the salon feeling embarrassed and frustrated. It's hard to believe that a salon could provide such subpar service.
I went in for a silk press with an 11:30 appointment and was promptly seated and seen shortly after arrival. Karen is such a wonderful person and has created a warm, welcoming atmosphere in her salon. The hair wash was incredibly relaxing, and I felt truly cared for throughout the process. Communication was clear and consistent from start to finish. One tip—be aware of parking fees in the area, so if you can use public transport, I’d recommend that. From the booking process to the thoughtful follow-up after my appointment, the entire experience was seamless. Thank you, Miss Karen, for making me feel young and beautiful again!
Karen Wright has been my go to salon for just over a year now - I love visiting the salon as I have a full head of natural 4c hair. My go to services are deep condition with a blow dry, a full head weave and more recently highlights, a keratin treatment. Karen is great at recommending products and planning out different hair treatments such as colouring or a smoothing treatment, alongside when a trim is needed. If you are looking for a reliable, calm environment to have your hair done locally - this is the place for you!
I am very happy of this hairdresser Karen is very pro kind and thoughtful. I went for a colour and silkpress my hair wasn’t purple but she warned me that I had to bleach my hair if I wanted a real purple things that I don’t wanted to do to preserve my hair . But I had a nice colour and my silk press was amazing very sleek and flexible , my hair fluttered in the wind . Also for an Afro hairdresser she was ON TIME AND I DIDN’T SPENT ALL MY DAY IN !! I recommend at 200%
Karen was nice, however I asked for a root drag and she went ahead and did a colour but not the technique I asked for, it seems she didn't understand yet went ahead and coloured my hair anyway. The colour looks orange even after toning and she knew I was not happy, yet still charged a ridiculous amount. I replied to her email explaining how unhappy I was but it seems she couldn't care less as no repsone. Won't be returning.
Wow! I had my first visit today as I needed to find a new hairdresser and I am so pleased with Karen Wright Salon. I was well looked after, and Karen really knows her stuff. Her prices are very reasonable and it was just a lovely atmosphere in the salon. Everyone was wearing masks so it was Covid friendly too. I’ll be back soon!!
