   Been going to The Cutting Company since it opened, Kathy also cut my sons hair when he was three (he is now 33). When I was younger I had been to hairdressers and had a lady come round but I was never really happy. I knew this shop before it was a hairdressers and so was surprised to see it open, and on the off chance just dropped in. asked if I could get my hair cut and got my hair done straightaway, can't do that now, gets booked up. I think Kathy is amazing and always up for a chat. Her team are great and are always welcoming.

   I went in for a haircut yesterday and they cut off 5 inches of my hair and the salon smells so bad of hair die and when I came out I really hate my hair cut and I will never go back their again I am keeping my hair up in a bun so it grows. The staff was ok in their

   If i could give no stars based on racism alone i would. Get your popcorn out for this one because its gonna be long. My indian mother called The cutting co and spoke to Kathy on the phone regarding her wanting to get a balayage. Kathy gave no info on the phone, nor asked about my mums hair type or whether its been dyed (box-dyed etc), and repeatedly told her to come to the salon where she will do a patch test. I have now taken her to the salon where both of us were told to sit down as she said goodbye to a customer. Whilst sitting, another lady (older white lady) walks in and has her enquiry attended to before us despite Kathy not even questioning why we were there. Whatever, we waited and when she was ready I explained that my mum wants a balayage. Kathy immediately says ‘a lot of people want a balayage but dont actually know what they are’ to which i said okay expand but Kathy had no hair knowledge to offer us despite her working there. My mums hair is box dyed dark brown, Kathy pinched her hair as though she didnt even want to touch it and said ‘this has been box dyed forever’. Fair enough, you would hope to get some advice on how to proceed. Kathy now starts talking about my hair (not sure why, im not getting my hair done) and said my mums hair wont look like mine. I continue to ask Kathy what would look good on my mums hair and she kept diverting the conversation to the hair type. Refused to give pricing as she doesnt have a pricing list?? When I told her she was being very negative and not helpful by telling us to find a picture for reference but when showing her she showed no flexibility in her interest of doing her hair and said ‘we’re not going to be able to help each other’. Mind you, the whole time she was speaking she was waving her hands around and speaking slowly as if we understood not a word of english. We felt belittled and disrespected especially after seeing Kathy speak to her previous white customers which such a kind tone in comparison to what we experienced. Bearing in mind you’re based in Thornton Heath, a multicultural area, do better!! First time ive been to a hair salon to be told theres not a pricing list, no hair colour samples or professional hair advice given. A joke of a woman and experience to be honest!

   I like coming here because the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable and it's a relaxed atmosphere. Pricing for services are reasonable and you don't feel pressured into buying additional products. Staff know some customers by name indicating that they have been coming for a while, so must be happy with their services.

   Been going to this place for years and now take my little one too. Highly recommend excellent service, affordable prices, little gem this place. All hair dressers here are great also for parking there is tesco 5 min walk which is free for 2 hours or right next to it is Iceland but it is pay and display. There is street parking around too.
