   I called ahead and was told a wash, blow-dry, and straightening would normally be £60, but Aicha offered £50. When I got to the salon, everything started fine until another customer walked in and the stylist left me under the dryer to do a full cornrow style on her instead. Because of the delay, I decided to just get a blow-dry instead of straightening, thinking the price would be adjusted. However, I was still charged the full £50, even though I didn’t receive the full service. When I questioned it, I was told I’d have to pay an extra £10 if I wanted to come back the next day to finish the straightening, which didn’t make sense. Overall, I felt the service was unfair and unprofessional. NO ONE SHOULD COME HERE.

   This experience is literally the reason why I avoid salons and do my hair myself. Short version - Shop wasn't open on arrival. The braider arrived around an hour after my booked appointment time. - Appointment that should have taken 4 hours took 8 hours, yes you read that correctly. My braider went off to finish someone else's hair THEN came back to me even though I was there first. - Hairdresser was very rough while handling my hair (I've had this lady braid my hair before, if I knew she was doing my hair I would have requested someone else) - Poor communication between manager and staff (why am I telling 3 different people what hairstyle I want, the braider also tried to say I sent the wrong amount of money when I had previously agreed a price with the manager) - Staff are loud and unprofessional - Hygiene is questionable, I saw a hairdryer that was used on my hair be used on someone else's - The hairstyle the lady did was not what I requested and she did the incorrect sized braids for what I paid. Let's normalise not accepting certain standards in salons because we are a certain colour. It's a shame because I wanted to support a local business but I will not do it at the cost of my natural hair and time. The salon owner offered to redo the incorrect sized braids but I didn't have time to go back and to be honest, I don't want to return to that place again. She should have offered some money back but she wouldn't because the initial price she offered upon booking with her was discounted. I definitely should have been offered something. My appointment time was double and my whole day was wasted. If you've made it to the end of the review, be kind to your strands and your valuable time and do not come here.

   The service was quick however this is my first and last visit. I went in for hair parts because I couldn’t get the lines straight at the back so I could then braid my hair myself. Over the phone the price was £10/£15 and when the service was completed it went up to £25, apparently because I requested the partings to be secured with elastics hair bands. I wonder how the parts would stay in place without the elastics until I got home… The place appears to be decent and has good reviews but this was a no no so make sure you ask about pricing over and over and show them references.

   22/09/22 Discovered this Afro Hair hairdressers randomly this morning. I requested an appointment via WhatsApp and I got responded to straight away. Victoria is a multi-skilled Hairdresser from Nigeria doing every kind of hairstyle you can think of. Today Victoria achieved my cornrow extensions perfectly (not too tight at all). Victoria finished my hair off by setting it with hot water, olive oil sheen spray and even styling my edges with the best gel ever (Eco Styler). Thank you so much ⭐️ Victoria ⭐️

   My daughter comes here every 3 months for hair extensions, it’s a very clean and warm environment. My daughters hair always looks beautiful every single time and last for 6-8 weeks! The owner is very professional, friendly & reliable, I wouldn’t use any other salon. I’ve recommended lots of friends here and they are always extremely satisfied with the service provided.
