I'm a 74-year-old pensioner. I was in this store on 16/12/2024. I spent about £45 on goods. It was about 12:30, lunchtime. I went to the cafe area and asked for the soup deal that is advertised "Over 60", I got the following response from a member of staff, "I don't think we've any left." No chicken, no tomato and no vegetable soups. Then she walked away. I was disappointed in that response. Again, I was in Asda 'Supercentre' on Wednesday 18/12/2024. It was before 13:12. I was with my wife. I bought goods worth £140+ (Inc vacuum cleaner). So I thought "it's a Supercentre, let's try the cafe again. Guess what? A different member of staff said, "I don't think we've got any left". No chicken, no tomato and no vegetable soups. Then she did an about turn and walked away. Has anyone been able to get the soup deal 'Over 60' soup option at this 'Supercentre'? From my experience it seems as though this promotion is a publicity stunt only. Designed to get only more money from pensioners. Look at other Supermarkets that care. I think Morrisons offers a far better service to pensioner customers. In fact it might be difficult to find a worse supermarket than Asda Wigan. Without the FALSE promises to deceive pensioners. I wish every pensioner a hearty and happy Christmas. Use anywhere else but not ASDA. Nobody cares, just read all the reviews. All they want is your money. ASDA PRICE. No service in this store. "I don't think I've got anything left" to say about Asda. Except "Cheapies". PENSIONER DEAL. No signs. You have to ask. Thursday 13/11/2025. 13:02 . Shopping in asda. Spent £65. (£35 microwave). Then we had the luxury of the latest pensioner deal. Soup, bread/butter & unlimited tea/coffee, £1. Only tomato soup available. It was a pity that all but the hot water machine were not in service. Thanks Asda for the taking the time and effort. As pensioners we do appreciate any help. I'm 75+ now. Keep it up. Updated from 1* to 3*. Thanks. They're at it again Tuesday 17/11/2025. I'm a 75 y.o. pensioner now. No pensioners deal until Thursday. They've ordered the soup Monday. Expected Thursday. The shop is full of tinned and packet soups. (Their commitment to pensioners is not there. Obviously, they're the wrong sort of soups. Just like British rail. What a way to run a business! No signs or posters advertising the pensioners deal that started weeks ago. They're obviously using the cheapest items available to them. So the good deal seems to be non existent and when it is, it's only the cheapest way of doing it. So they're not living up to the supposed offer to look after the pensioners. I hope someone else comes to the rescue. Maybe Tesco. This store has never had pensioners in mind, except to squeeze the pennies out of us. We're an embarrassment that they suffer, obviously. But that's ASDA price for you!

WARNING Con artists! Badly run store! General manager should be ashamed! Every time there is something on offer they never actually change the price you pay as they always scan at full price. Now this isn’t just occasional this is all the time and has been going on at least the past year or so. Could be longer but I have only noticed as i have been using scan and go so can see the price at the time of picking up the item. If you don’t self scan and just put all the ‘bargains’ straight in your trolley you’ll probably never even know you’re been taken advantage of. People are struggling enough so when they think they are buying something which will save them money they are being conned as they are actually still paying full price. This is unacceptable practice and really should be reported to trading standards. I will never shop at this store again and will be driving the extra 5 minutes to Tesco

For the past 2 weeks on checking my receipt I have been overcharged! The first time by 65p but this week by £3. Customer service says they have a new system installed and it’s happening all the time. I only bought a few items so was easy to check, but please every one check your receipts!! Wine priced at £7.47 tilling through at £8.47

Cafe service appalling. Called in for breakfast at 11.15 (served til 12)after getting currency and shopping to be told not doing any more by woman behind pizza counter who took 10 mins even to acknowledge we were there. You've just lost my custom Asda!!

Went to Asda Wigan cafe to try the ‘afternoon tea’ and was extremely disappointed to be given what you can see in the picture. Apparently they had no small tubs to put the cream in so she slapped it on the side of the plate. Then they had no butter so she scooped some into a bowl and apologised that it had toast crumbs in it as seen in the photo. We also ordered a ready made Brie Toasty from the chiller, however when it arrived it had been put in the microwave not the toaster. To top it all the server overcharged us by £3 for what we ordered. I wouldn’t recommend this place if you paid me.

Went today as this is my local Asda always go to this Asda on a weekly basis. However today my trolley token wouldn’t work and I didn’t have a £1 on me I headed into the store where I approached a member of staff refilling the scan and go scanners of out of a basket older lady with blonde shoulder length hair slim and asked would she be able to help get me a trolley to do my shopping as my token wouldn’t work and I didn’t have a £1 she huffed and didn’t reply with good customer service. She said I can’t do it you’ll have to go to security of which I understand that I told her I went to go to that however their was no one their. Her approach to me and the way she spoke I found very rude. I understand the store is getting very busy on the lead up to Christmas and staff are rushed off their feet however their communication skills with customers shouldn’t change. When the security man returned he was very helpful young lad with ginger hair and got me my trolley to do my shopping great member of staff he was. This happened at around 12:10 at the front of store. 28/11/22

Never enough staff on checkouts, so essentially forced to use self service tills unless you fancy a long wait (ps. this isn't customers preferring this option, it's customers having no other choice). For 5 minutes I waited like a lemon at the crowded service checkout for a member of staff to authorise an alcohol sale today, but two staff were too busy chatting leaving one poor girl trying to do the work of 3 people. Gave up, walked out and left my shopping behind.

More like second hand embarrassment - was using self check out tills and saw young person being approached for a “random scan check” on self check out. I appreciate I didn’t know the ins and outs of the matter - for all I know they could have been a genuine thief, robbing them left right and centre every day of the week - but the manner in which they were spoken to was disgusting. They came across as very apologetic as though they had made a genuine mistake (let’s be honest, those guns are not perfect and can easily miss things when scanning, the technology isn’t as up to speed as a real human doing the job). They didn’t come across as aggressive, they seemed genuinely upset and embarrassed by the situation and paid for the goods with no protests or arguments, even when staff were all but accusing them of stealing. If that had been the case, why would they willingly stand and allow staff to detect this and then also pay for the goods? Anyone who wanted to rob something would surely make a run for it rather than offer to pay for the items with little to no protesting? As someone who works with the general public and is responsible for leading a team who comes across much more aggressive customers who are considerably ruder and steal entire units of products, I felt ashamed that this customer was publicly humiliated in a busy self check out area. Is there nowhere they could have been spoken to more privately? Didn’t come across to me as very professional and I won’t be giving my custom again after witnessing this. I understand they have a job to do but when presented with no manned tills or a potential public shaming, my answer will be to shop elsewhere. Life is hard enough without making a holy show out of someone for something they were falling over themselves to apologise about. After reading these reviews, it is very clear that this is not the first person this has happened to either. Maybe someone should have a long hard think about what your staff are saying to real customers who may not be as technology advanced as others or - just maybe - made a mistake rather than seeing the worst in everyone. It does not create for a nice shipping experience for those who have to witness it, never mind the poor customer who is being accused. Very disappointed by the team at Asda robin park and the way they dealt with this situation
