I've been to these lodges countless times, usually off season Nov/Dec time and never had a reason to complain, never. I LOVED (note past tense) this place because you knew what you were getting - the lodges had names that corresponded with their layout and the prices when the weather got rubbish was around £199 (4 nights) for a Lime (plus £39 if you wanted a hot tub) and a bit more for a better more spacious lodge, like an Oak. Absolutely brilliant. Website and booking process, brilliant, simple. No longer! - no idea why, but they moved (sold out?) to AwayResorts and the lodge names have been scrapped and the prices have gone up. We all know prices rise, its a sad reality, but what is appalling is the dishonesty - let me explain - the lodges are now are categorized by birth, 4 birth, 6, 8. They're all called 'Luxury', but the photos on the booking page show the higher priced lodge layout even for the old 'Limes', which (love them to bits!) are basic caravan type things. So when (last week) I chose the more expensive £316 price option for a 'Luxury' lodge for 4 nights and was shown photos of the grander, larger lodge layouts with the island kitchens I assumed, at least it wouldn't be a basic Lime this time. It was in fact a Lime. I complained. I got a call from a supervisor who said the inconsistency had been raised with their marketing department. I said I wasn't happy and wanted what I was shown in the photos against my booking selection - no can do, apparently!. I said I'd write a review and share my dissatisfaction with the admitted inconsistency (to me it's plain dishonesty!). The young lady 'understood'. So here it is. My advice: book somewhere else where they're at least honest about what you're getting. The lady I spoke to couldn't have been less interested in making things right despite admitting the photos didn't match the reality. She also threw in the 'disclaimer' on the website, which, let me quote: "All images used are for illustrative purposes only. Individual features such as furniture, decor and other materials’ colours may vary." This, to be clear, refers to the furniture and decor, NOT the substantive layout and space. To me it's not sloppy, it's dishonest, which I made clear when I complained, but it fell on deaf ears. Additionally: I stayed in lodge 36 last week and the small twin room had a terrible chemical smell and I ended up sleeping on the sofa. Still had a nice time, I'm not usually one to complain unless it's warranted, but I won't be booking again, not when it would have been so easy to make things right. The lady I spoke to couldn't have been less interested, despite the admitting the photos were wrong. The photos are of the (old) Lime lodge, two bedrooms, four person capacity. Please pardon the unmade beds in the photo - I took these on leaving. The beds of course are made up at the start.

I didn't actually stay there, I visited my daughter who was staying there. The lodges seem very nice quite compact but enough for one or two people. Unfortunately it was not very well sign posted to reception when arriving in the dark. The pathways were quite muddy and a bit slippy in places. The shop sells basic stuff but no fresh food, bread etc only frozen stuff granted it's low season.

We stayed in the Lime spa lodge with a hottub for 2 nights, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The lodge was fairly standard but perfectly fine. Only issue was one of the showers kept getting blocked! The hot tub was fantastic, albeit not as secluded as you would hope…. Alas, we still loved it. My only “moan” is that you have to leave your car in the car park by reception then walk to your accommodation. You’re only allowed your car outside the accommodation when you’re loading/unloading luggage. I would’ve liked more of a restaurant/ bar at the site, although there is a little cafe. We also wanted to hire bikes for the day- however we decided that £20 per person was slightly too expensive. The site is in a lovely location, right next to Clumber park forest and only a couple miles from Sherwood Forest. Very tranquil setting- ideal for a nice relaxing break if that’s what you’re after! :)

Had a phenomenal time here last weekend with my good friends. Good value for money, each lodge comes with its own TV and WiFi router (15mbps down / 31mbps up / 92ms) so can stream YouTube perfectly fine and great for entertainment. There’s a lovely café and shop on-site where you can buy snacks. There lodge itself has a hot shower and is modern and cosy. Really nice location

For location and customer service would give 5* . Beautiful location and staff very welcoming . We had a pet friendly lime with tub , there was no obvious dog smell and the lodge seemed clean. The lodge did however appear a little unloved , there was a large stain on the single bedroom floor along with paper peeled from the wall the hot tub lid was also tired and broken . That being said it wouldn't stop us staying again .

Just had a weekend there in the Lime Spa Waterside Pet and it was absolutely lovely, the accommodation was lovely and clean and smelt lovely no trace of any dogs being in there and it was very well equipped. The hot tub was lovely and hot.We also got phone signal tho a little weak. The cafe is really nice aswell. It's lovely and peaceful and has great dog walks. The only suggestions I could make is for some coat hooks in the hallway and some in the bathrooms for towels....We will definitely return.

We recently stayed here at Clumber park. As we provide holiday accommodation ourselves we know the usual standard. Upon arrival the ‘lodge’ seemed lovely. The first morning we were awoke by large vehicles passing the window, which carried on all week. Woken up everyday with rollers, diggers etc passing window. Apparently once speaking to the reception staff this was due to the ‘expansion’ of the site. No one mentioned the building works when booking! The lodges also had very little provided. No door mats, no hoover, no cleaning products, no trays for oven, no tin opener, no utensils for cooking. Cleaning products are essential when you have children, and a hoover! It’s pebbles walking to the hot tub so make sure you take footwear to put on and off outside the hot tub. Did notice some had flags to them, Ours didn’t. Overall the holiday was meant to be relaxing, but the building works made it unbearable at times. 7am every morning! Offered 10% discount off next stay! No chance of returning.

Just come back from 3 nights here. I'll start with the positives -lovely and clean -very peaceful -pet friendly -our lodge (no 10) was quite a distance away from others so we weren't disturbed by others being noisy or us being too noisy for other people. Our hot tub was also a lot more private that a lot of the others we saw on our daily walk to find WiFi in reception And now the negatives: -no cleaning supplies - not even washing up liquid!! -no basic essentials- I saw a few reviews on here saying there was basic coffee, sugar sachets etc. We didn't get anything like that! -2 toilet rolls for 6 girls over 4 nights! Absolutely not enough! -1 bin bag for the tiniest bin, again for a 4 night stay, we kept having to bring the same bin bag back from the bin, absolutely grim! -no extra towels for the hot tub -bad design with the hot tub on the front of the lodge and the patio area on the opposite side via the back door -no WiFi but you have a smart TV!? Bizarre -can't park your car at your lodge -check in, in my opinion, is very late -I wouldn't call them lodges, the walls are very thin & are more like a caravan! -in our welcome note, it was mentioned that to save on energy costs the boiler is hot water only & should we wish to have radiator use we'd need to switch the boiler over - don't think its the best idea to have guests messing around with boilers!! -no outdoor lighting for the hot tub Overall, for the price we paid I'm OK with it but I wouldn't be rushing back. Far too many negatives for me. I don't mind self catering, it's what we signed up for, but never in my life have I been anywhere in the UK and been expected to bring my own toilet roll and washing up liquid.

After reading a few negative reviews we went open minded and have to say we weren't disappointed. The lodge was spotless and very well equipped, lovely comfy sofas and bed, we both slept like a log! The park itself was very well maintained and security was excellent. Everyone we met that worked there were very friendly and very helpful. Will definitely go again.

I wasn't sure what to expect after reading some of the reviews but thankfully we had a great holiday. We found the accommodation spacious, clean and well equipped. We all slept well and appreciated the comfy sofas. We've stayed in caravans for over 20 years in this country and all over Europe and I can honestly say it was one of the best. We did get some signal on our phones but it was weak. To be honest getting a relaxing peaceful break with the family is more important than social media.
