Stayed here 20th Sept for one night. Have stayed here a few times before with no problem as we have family near by. We got to the hotel room late and the window had been left open (presumably because it stank of wet dog). We were in a family room as my two children were also with us and the bed nearest the window was soaked through. We asked to move room due to the soggy bed and the terrible smell. The man on reception was nice and we were in a new room within 15minutes. We had been in this room for about 20mins (my husband was tucking my son into the bed nearest the window) when there was an almighty crash outside and the whole room shook. I opened the curtains and there was a car that had crashed into the building. She had hit it with such force that the wall had cracked and the windowsill had come away (pictures attatched). We were very shaken up as it could have been so much worse. I went outside (by this point she had moved the car into the car park). The man from earlier was outside with the driver of the car who was clearly intoxicated and had been drunk/drug driving and was a resident of the hotel. He asked us if we were OK and if we needed to move rooms. The kids were already upset and it was really late so I said no and went back to the room. The police were not called. The women knocked on our hotel room door about ten minutes later and was completely incoherent. I sent her away and finally went to bed. I don't know what I expected in the morning when we checked out but I at least expected an apology but nothing was said until I mentioned it to the reception staff who then apologised. I was not offered a refund. I have replied to the standard 'how was your stay with us' email i received afterwards with the above account but I have heard nothing. The customer service is terrible and the fact the police were not called is a joke. I had an 8 year old and an 11 year old child with me and to not even receive a curtesy email or phone call to see if we were OK is frankly awful. Please do not stay here, especially with children.

Room and corridors where tired and smelt like wet dog. There where all undesirables outside. Did not feel safe.

Stayed at Barnsley Travelodge on 24th of July overnight, the room was adequate for our needs as it was clean and shower was fine and we knew there was no restaurant. Have to say the lovely lady on the desk(Beverley)couldn’t have been more helpful .

NEVER AGAIN! Upon arrival we were informed that the room that we had booked a month previously was not available. We were told that we would have to upgrade to a family room, and pay for the upgrade. After arguing the point, we were given a number to ring in order to resolve the problem. This call cost 13 pence a minute, and we were on for 20 minutes. All the time that we spent in reception , random people were coming and going. One guy had a dog staying with him! After finally getting to the room, there was only one towel for two people, and half a toilet roll. DISGUSTED!!

Adequate roadside hotel that's showing it's age. But, very good for the price. The rooms were clean, the staff were really friendly, the location was right, and I had a really good night's sleep.
