“We are are regular customers at the Dewsbury branch, but when our dog became ill overnight we took her down to the 24hr hospital at Barnsley at 2.00am on a Sunday morning. From the first phone call when we were given a prompt appointment, to discharge a couple of days later, all the staff were wonderful. As Poppy had been admitted due to the severity of her condition, we were kept regularly updated at every stage of her treatment, and we're advised to call at anytime should we feel the need to.( Which we did on a couple of occasions) The staff were lovely and kind and as well as bringing Poppy back to health, they were also so reassuring with us too as it is very worrying and stressful when your pet is unwell. When these things happen, although it's never a factor as most people will do anything for their pet, Money is always at the very back of your mind. This is where Animal Trust Vets score another 5 stars!!! Their out of hours consultation fee is less than one third of our closest vets practice, and overall charges are similarity reasonable. Poppy is getting back to her old self, and we are overwhelmingly appreciative of all the Barnsley staff for their help,care and understanding.”

“Brilliant shop been going here for 6+ years never had any problems all my reptiles, fish ect have been healthy. Any advice about care or how to tend to your animals needs are taken care of while there, they are great at sourcing any animals/products you want also if they don’t have them in stock whilst there. I’ll always take my business to Dave and Sarah great all around shop not one to be missed, great prices would recommend anyone to go beginner or more advanced keepers.”

I have severe mobility issues which means I cannot control my pooch as well as walk with a rollator frame, so due to this the vet comes to me in the car park to my car, which is more comfortable and less stressful for my dog as well so thankyou very much for understanding. “Been with this vets on and off for several years now and all of the vets and nurses I've seen here are very kind, caring and professional. The receptionists are very good and will go out of their way to help with appointments and queries. The Practice Manager is very pro-active and can often be seen in the background supporting staff members in what can only be described as very busy and at times possibly stressfull enviroment for staff members. She is very passionate and caring and a strong manager. They are open 24/7 and their prices are very reasonable in comparison to other vets, although administration fees for dispensing medications can be around £16 per item, (bearing in mind that almost all vets charge this not just Barnsley Vets for pets) plus the cost of the medications, some of which can be bought online with a prescription for much less, there is a charge for prescriptions but they are very reasonable! So it's probably worth getting a prescription which is active for 6 months once prescribed, for things like worming and flea products or long-term medications. All in all this vets offers up-to-date treatments and are very caring and knowledgeble.”

“We've just had our first 1 to 1 with Jo, she is a fantastic trainer and a lovely person, the session and follow up is great value as Jo packs a lot in. I feel much more confident that I can get Teddy to walk better and behave around people and other dogs, we'll be attending other classes too. The unit at Outward Hound is spacious and safe and perfect for training, Jo is very, very knowledgeable. I highly recommend you get the life skills book from Jo as it gives you something to work towards, it's a very professionally made booklet and a bargain price. “The staff at the Cortonwood store are knowledgeable and more than happy to help with queries. It is a decent sized store with plenty of choice. If I am unable to get exactly what I am looking for, there is usually an alternative product available. The store is nice and clean, when a pup has an accident, it is cleaned up quickly without any fuss”

“Clean, comfortable, easily accessible hotel with ample parking. The room was a little hot, due to no AC, however a large fan was provided which helped a lot. The restaurant next door has reopened, although I didn't use it on this visit. The stand out point for me, was the staff! We had travelled from Devon, for my partner to have major surgery at Northern General Hospital, and an, otherwise, stressful visit was made bearable by the care & compassion of every member of staff I met; they went above & beyond to check that I had everything I needed and that I was OK & enquired daily about my partner (he's recovering well). I'll be back to stay again when I return to bring him home. THANK YOU!”

“My cat was taken as an emergency the vet was waiting for her when she arrived the vet attended to her straight away and we ended up taking her to the main surgery on huddersfield road . They were waiting for her and attended to her straight away . They did everything they could to save her but sadly we lost her . I cannot thank them enough for trying to save her the cost of the care was worth it to try and save her . RIP Missey you were a much loved and now missed family member .”
