Very nice rooms - 4 star hotel level, very comfy beds, helpful receptionists. Unfortunately the food facilities are run at a lower standard. The website restaurant area offering is misleading. True experience is more of a very standard pub rather than a 4star hotel restaurant experience. Definitely room for improvement.

I had reserved a room at tankardsley manor, as I was attending a Christmas party night.and thought that getting a room would be easier than trying to arrange a lift home or a taxi. My stay was extremely pleasant. Check in was smooth and easy and the young man on reception was lovely. He even lent me a charger plug for my phone as I had forgotten mine. Tea and coffee was available in the room & the bed was very comfy. I had a great night's sleep. Breakfast the next morning was delicious, a very wide choice from fruit yoghurt & pastry, to full English with choice of eggs. Even a gluten free option. All in all would I stay here again. Yes, in a heartbeat . I had a lovely stay.

I recently stayed at this hotel while attending a Christmas party with my husband and I couldn’t have been more impressed. From the moment I arrived, the atmosphere was warm, festive, and incredibly welcoming. A special shout-out goes to Holly on reception, who was absolutely outstanding. She greeted me with a smile, handled check-in smoothly, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect for my stay. Her friendliness and professionalism truly set the tone for the entire visit. The Christmas party itself was brilliant—great food, lively entertainment, and a lovely festive setup. The staff throughout the hotel were consistently attentive and helpful, making the whole experience feel effortless.

What great value for money! Plus character! The staff make the place even greater. I booked half board some weeks in advance but fully flexible, at half the cost of room-only in any faceless London hotel. My schedule in the end was such that I might not have made it until midnight so I emailed reception and got a cheery response. Then I updated that I'd be there for 10pm and was promised a pizza or sandwich would be available on arrival. Sure enough the night porter Gareth gave me a Yorkshire welcome and cheerfully cooked me a tasty pizza as part of my rate (would have been 2 set courses if restaurant had been open), it was brought to my room with a smile. When I went to breakfast the following morning I met Ben who'd been on the email - he remembered me and checked it all worked out. Breakfast had loads of variety and again the staff made clear they'd be keen to help in any way. Room (57) was freshly refurbished, quiet and large, a bit warm with no aircon but I slept with the windows open and just a sheet (in November!) and was comfy. I used the Tesla supercharger that night but could have left it until morning. I stayed less than 12 hours but I'll be back, hopefully with more time to relax and enjoy. Maybe not the plushest hotel I've stayed in but I didn't care.

Had a great stay. Breakfast was excellent — plenty of choice and well presented. The conference rooms were well set up and ran smoothly throughout the event. The bar had a good atmosphere with friendly, attentive staff who made everyone feel welcome. Overall, a well-run hotel with solid service and attention to detail. Would definitely recommend and return.

Our first visit since lockdown and nice surprise to see the refurbishment. Loved the room and bathroom. The chefs couldn't make it into work because of snow in Sheffield resulting in a limited menu. We understood but it felt like the menu was sandwiches or freezer food. Roads were clear and shops were open for fresh food. The chef did his best but circumstances dictated the choice.

Lovely friendly, helpful staff. Beautiful room. We used the pool and steam room in the spa then relaxed in the bar and had a lovely dinner. Had an excellent night's sleep in a really comfy bed and woke up feeling refreshed. Wonderful choice at breakfast. A lovely place to stay.

The rooms were excellent and the overall experience was good. The location was great ... really easy to get into Sheffield. Also presented with an invoice for £15 per night for our dog at check out, this wasn't outlined to us when we booked over the phone or during checking in.

My partner and I got married on the 26th October. We had a fantastic time. We would highly recommend. Not only were the staff friendly, but they went above and beyond to ensure that our guests enjoyed themselves. But what we valued the most was that they also ensured we could enjoy our special day and not feel stressed. They catered for us - providing a full vegan menu - which was delicious. All of our guests enjoyed the food, which is impressive as they were not vegans like us! So they were pleasantly surprised. We were also allowed to bring our two beautiful cats, which made it all the more special. We would like to thank Jess for all her help and patience. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a stress-free, special wedding.

What a beautiful hotel with amazing staff! Over the course of our stay we were made to feel welcome and comfortable. Room was clean and spacious. Including all necessary amenities: shampoo, conditioner, body wash, soap, towels, iron & ironing board, hairdryer and tea & coffee station. There was no air conditioning but a fan and a heater were also available in the room to use. Although we didn’t feel the need to use either as it was already a comfortable temperature. Breakfast buffet was set out beautifully, with plenty of options for hot and cold food including variety of pasties, fruit, yoghurt, various breads and cereals. Hot food included poached, fried & scrambled eggs and plenty of accompanying items. Tea and coffee is served at the table in a pot as you sit down and the rest of the breakfast is self serve. Everything was cooked well and of good quality. If you stay in the hotel you are also allowed to use the gym, pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi for free! Hubby and I decided to book a couple of treatments in the hotel spa. Spa staff was also very helpful and kind and the treatments were carried out in a professional manner and were very relaxing. Overall a brilliant hotel, great value for money. Thank you for such a lovely stay.
