“Booked Ultrasound Direct after my 2 local private hospitals offered services a month later. Ultrasound gave me a date in 3 days in Barnsley which is not far from my home town of Sheffield. Not the easiest place to find but find it I did and with no waiting time and a very efficient Ultrasound experience I was on my way in 30mins with report and images in hand. Well done all, a very pleasant and efficient service.”

“Been with this vets on and off for several years now and all of the vets and nurses I've seen here are very kind, caring and professional. The receptionists are very good and will go out of their way to help with appointments and queries. The Practice Manager is very pro-active and can often be seen in the background supporting staff members in what can only be described as very busy and at times possibly stressfull enviroment for staff members. She is very passionate and caring and a strong manager. They are open 24/7 and their prices are very reasonable in comparison to other vets, although administration fees for dispensing medications can be around £16 per item, (bearing in mind that almost all vets charge this not just Barnsley Vets for pets) plus the cost of the medications, some of which can be bought online with a prescription for much less, there is a charge for prescriptions but they are very reasonable! So it's probably worth getting a prescription which is active for 6 months once prescribed, for things like worming and flea products or long-term medications. All in all this vets offers up-to-date treatments and are very caring and knowledgeble.”

“Great sports facilities for all sorts of activities. Hosts a lot of clubs indoors and out with two full size sport halls, Artificial pitches and newly created Netball Court. With a Gym and social areas. Friendly and helpful staff.”

“Visited here on the 2nd October to celebrate our toddlers birthday and the entire family was thoroughly impressed from start to finish. The building is warm and welcoming; the seasonal display in the entrance cafe is adorable and the staff are polite and approachable. The family changing rooms are very convenient and kept to a good standard. When entering the pool, was pleased to know it was a good temperature and the entertaining features in the children’s pool were such a hit. The little one was smiling from ear to ear the entire time and we had a great family swim. To finish off a lovely day out, we had warm drinks (shout out to my amazing oat milk pumpkin spice latte) and food at the cafe. Lola stood out amongst the staff working this day; she was so polite and accommodating of our dietary needs- the little one has multiple food allergies and she went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, and all carried out with a smile. Thank you for an amazing day out!!”

“My dentist referred me here to have a wisdom tooth removal. The process took from March to now, but through no fault of MyDentist, they fitted me in as soon as I rang and I managed to get a cancellation appointment, which I wasn’t expecting. The team who dealt with my extraction were brilliant from start to finish, they explained everything and were really reassuring. The extraction wasn’t the easiest and it wasn’t 100% straight forward. I don’t suffer with anxiety around dental work but I imagine if you did, the staff would be really calming. I got there early and was seen 25 minutes before my appointment time. The aftercare was explained to me much better than previous work elsewhere. I understand we all have different experiences looking at some of the reviews on here, but I honestly can’t fault them for the service I’ve received. I’m also grateful the tooth is gone!”

“On the 29th of July 2025, while I was at work, my right eye suddenly closed. I went to A&E the same night and was told it was a chalazion. I asked whether there might be a problem with the nerve, and I was reassured there wasn’t. However, it later turned out not to be a chalazion, but Horner’s Syndrome, which is caused by damage to the sympathetic nervous system pathway. In my case, the cause was idiopathic, but in other circumstances it could have been something serious — such as a carotid artery dissection, which can lead to a stroke. That night, I could have been at real risk, and it makes me realise how easily a human mistake could cost a life. I understand that everyone in the NHS works under great pressure, and I truly appreciate the effort of those who tried to help me that night. I especially want to thank the GP in A&E who referred me to the specialists when I went back for the third time — I don’t know his name, but I am very grateful. I would also like to thank the ophthalmology department, who provided a high standard of care. I saw Dr Anne-Marie Firan, who was a knowledgeable and caring specialist. Thank you to all of you at Barnsley Hospital.”

“My friend had an emergency appointment after being in so much pain with an infected tooth that they could barely function and hadn't slept in days, so I managed to get them an appointment through 111. In no time, the lovely dentist Fiona yanked that tooth out giving my friend much needed relief. Staff (including reception) were amazing, and my friend was given clear instructions on how to care for the wound. My friend managed to get sleep, finally. And the day after, there is still no pain.
