Went to Cineworld at Monks Cross York to see the new Danny Dyer Christmas film. It was during a weekday afternoon so the cinema was very quiet. The cinema is ideally positioned on the outskirts of York so no fighting through city traffic. We found the staff very helpful and courteous. There was ample free parking and we enjoyed the day.
A good cinema with nice seats. The screens here can be a bit grainy, and I'm not sure if it was due to a late showing but the staff can be very lackadaisical when serving drinks (5 mins to serve us and pour two alcoholic drinks into a plastic cup).
A bit out of town because of the “nothing higher than the Minster” rules in York. A bugger to travel to from the centre. Saw - I SCREAM - excellent film. The whole place for a Wednesday night was a bit deadsville gulch.
Really, really not good. Popcorn and drinks are super expensive. It was completely empty, which was very odd. The toilets were a mess. The screen had creases in the fabric, and there was a clicking sound coming out of the speakers the whole way though. I wouldn't go again.

Brilliant cinema, comfort seating and friendly staff. One of my happy places to go and enjoy some time away from the business of life and get lost in the brilliance of film.
Traveled on a bus and walked about a mile to visit this cinema from Scarborough and got to tell you it was worth it. I think seats are better in the vue but both are very comfortable either way. Only wish they had a bigger selection of drinks as I was wanting an energy drink but don't think they had any. Friendly staff too! I chatted to one about the movie DBS Super Hero I had watched
Really enjoyed going here. Booking & collecting tickets so easy. Great seats with clear view of screen no matter where you're sitting. Friendly helpful staff. Comfy seating seating area to sit in whilst waiting for film to start. Starbucks in the downstairs lobby.
So we went VIP today for Uncharted. What we thought was, time we've brought the ticket and treats, we spent a near fortune, so when we saw the VIP on offer, which included Dinner, drinks, and treats for one price, and a special screen with fully reclining chairs that was the deal for us. What a absolutely awesome experience me n my lil family had tonight 11/01/22. From the moment we walked in we felt welcomed the lady from Starbucks gave us directions to the vip lounge we went up an escalator and at top there was a lounge where u can get popcorn sweets n drinks and wait for your film to start then through the big arch which says vip there where doors to the vip lounge we was greated by staff member Emily who opened the doors for us then when we got in Emily then showed us around the vip lounge and told us what the menu was for food showed us where it was all at and even desserts and drinks and popcorn ect...Once she was finished I had a chat about our car and that there where lads smashing things up outside they had already smashed the fire extinguisher on the side of the building but Emily said she wil go check on car and get us a ticket to scan when we leave so we don't get a parking ticket which was awesome while Emily was gone Danny come out and said if she needed anything to ask so I asked if he had wkd blue he went n checked n in mins I had a glass of wkd blue on my table. I had the chicken tikka with chips and it was lovely meal and after I had ice cream a large Pepsi max. So after eating our way through the buffet 2 mins before the film started we all went to toilet and then we got out popcorn n another drink to take with us to watch the film. I was amazed by the vip seats they where so comfy and I could of fallen asleep in them. Me n my family had an absolute awesome experience and night thank you to Emily and Danny and cineworld. Just a bit of info for everyone there are escalators & lifts to get you to the lounges and the screen where ya watching ya film toilets are also close by too girls toilets where emaculate clean n fresh. I would absolutely recommend giving the vip experience a go u won't regret it for sure.
