To reach the site, proceed along the dirt track, turning left just before the water treatment plant and entering through the gate, which is currently overgrown. You'll pass an old restroom to your right and a skip and some disused huts ahead; take the first left to enter the main area. The site features a well-maintained lawn, enclosed pitches, and a gravel pitch with a grassy area and trees for privacy. Enjoy the pleasant birdsong. The electric hookups are functional but could use some cleaning; please wear gloves to avoid scratches when using the water tap, which is located on the back of the hookup post. The advertised cafe is not on-site; it's a pleasant ten-minute walk away through the Fisheries. The cafe is dog-friendly, and the staff are very welcoming. They offer a wonderful menu, including options for dogs. There is no country club at this location. The site shows signs of neglect, which is unfortunate given its potential. There are no visible staff onsite, although they do react to text messages.

Well laid out fishing complex. Catches the sun well for those early season or early morning sessions. Beautiful area. Well stocked ponds. Bailiffs were very helpful and knowledgeable. Lakeside cafe was nice, with good service. Didn't use the onsite tackle shop; however, the other facilities onsite were spot on. A 31 fish day for me. Definitely go again. Didn't use the caravan park of the site but went to this location first, prior to fishing, and in looked nicely tended.

A highly recommended adults only, dog friendly caravan site. My family stayed with you for a weekend in September. The site was truly fabulous. We must have been very lucky to get a weekend when only one other pitch was taken, it was so quiet!! But even if the place was full, I can't imagine it would have made much difference. The grounds were so well kept, the pitches were spacious and so private. And the walks around the wider site were absolutely stunning. We fully intend to return in the near future. Also, the young lady we met (I'm sorry, I can't remember her name) was so friendly, kind and helpful, please thank her from us all for making us feel very welcome. Thank you so much for allowing us to make some wonderful memories. Kind regards, Wendy, Adam, Jenny and Jon (my sister and brother-in-law).

What a brilliant find, 10 very secluded hard standing pitches, EHU & water on pitch, elsan point, grey water & bins short walk. Very peaceful site. Great walks in the area, we did monk wood approx 4 to 5 mile round trip with stunning scenery ended up at the cafe what a great find. The cafe was busy with a hive of activity, had a spot of lunch which was simple but delicious, staff very friendly, could have sat there for ages. Pubs are really good & within walking distance one at each end of the village, both very good. Also in the village is a bakery & cafe. Picked up a pie for tea, really nice. Everywhere was dog friendly. Can't wait to return ❤️

Fantastic place to fish overall. Lovely place, great facilities, small bait/tackle shop and café. Pros: Car park on entry or at the side of the Heron/Cabin ponds (I'm not sure about the others!). Fantastic fishing on the Heron pond, some impressive carp and silver fish. Cons: Google Maps took me an awkward way in, probably not Barlow's fault but the lack of signage didn't help. For those fishing on the pond in front of the café - it can get quite noisy on busy days with people not really giving much consideration to those fishing, dogs barking, bikers etc. Though I suppose this will only be the case in the height of summer.

Ideal for a couple getting away for a few days. Downstairs has an all-in-one living/dining room and kitchen. Some sachets of coffee and tea and sugar are provided but this is a self-catering cottage so you do need to bring your own provisions (a friendly reminder not a criticism). The bathroom with bath/shower and toilet is downstairs, towels are provided. Upstairs is a bedroom with a lovely comfy king-size bed, TV and large built-in wardrobe . It was really quiet here and an ideal central location for visiting the local areas of interest.

Since the trout lakes have undergone some maintenance and carp removal, the water is almost gin clear again and it’s back to being a great trout fishery. Credit to Gordon on what he’s done here. I’ve been back twice now and caught nearly 30 trout between the two sessions. These fish are hard fighting and really enjoyable. I’m on my way back down today (5/12/22) and really looking forward to it.

Really spacious pitches with high private edges. No facilities but we were aware of that. Could walk 5 to 10 minutes to excellent pub.

I used to fish for trout here a lot. Maybe once a week for a while. It was always a bit run down, but there were usually plenty of fish to throw a line to. This was my first time back since the change of ownership. The prices have gone up a lot! So, we expected to see some big improvements. What a dissapointment. There used to be three trout lakes. One decent sized lake and two smaller ones (which always felt like shooting fish in a barrel they were so small). The larger lake is no longer a trout lake. That just left the two tiny lakes. Worst still, both the trout lakes were overflowing with carp. If there are any trout left, none of us saw them. Neither did anyone else recently judging by the comments from one of the campers. We were left with the impression that the whole place is in the slow process changing to course fishing only. I won't be returning. I'll go back to the other fly fishery nearby.
