Been waiting for Nuremberg film to come out for a while and excited to take my Dad to see it. We were warned by a few other friends to 'Wrap up warm because its freezing at the Savoy', How right they were. Sadly in Screen 1 the temperature was absolutely Baltic! It was as low as 12.2Β° for almost an hour (see photo)....it was only 4Β° outside! Other people aswell as ourselves were watching the film in coats, gloves and wooly hats and blankets over their legs. We complained at the front counter after an hour of the film as the steam from our breath was getting in the way of watching. The staff said it 'was at 21Β°' and room temperature (they didn't come into the room to check obviously) and fobbed us off. We stuck with the film but the cold totally ruined the film, and the Day out with my Dad. It eventually scraped up to 15.6Β° so still cold and way lower than the claimed 21Β° just as the film ended. We checked temp every 30 minutes. We were met as we exited screen 1 by staff who presented us with 2 free tickets. She Said she'd reported it being cold to her manager, and apologised. But we've since found out from other people who've been to the Savoy, this has been going on for months....so it needs addressing. Shame as it's a lovely little cinema.....but perhaps that's why it's empty? People won't sit in freezing temperatures to watch a film.

Second visit here and as good as ever. The place is clean and modern and easy to get to. If you are parking in the Civic Quarter car park (formerly Southern Bus Station), you can get a discounted car parking fee. Just ask at the desk for a ticket (there is an explanatory video on Youtube if you get stuck). The cinema areas are clean with a wide variety of seat choices. Recommend the recliners, they are really comfy and just over Β£8 for a adult ticket. Refreshments are also good value here, compared to the cinema at Lakeside. Didn't know which drink to choose so the absolutely lovely staff member gave me a sample of one to try. Excellent customer service 10/10

I’ve been coming to this Savoy for years. I live near by so it’s a plus. It’s a nice theatre and the screens are great. The only problem I’ve had, really is the staff it seems. Most days it’s fine, but the attitude is weird. I’m a ticket collector, but I pre book online, just so I don’t have to be in the queue too long or just ease of picking the seats you want before they’re gone. I’ve had tickets printed off multiple times, even one from 3 years ago that I grabbed the other day. You can’t do something and then not another day, especially since it’s worked completely fine and there’s no problem with it. It just feels like I’m being made look like an idiot sometimes, and all I want to do is have a great experience. There’s a manager there, not sure of his name, but has glasses. He’s great, and we’ve had a pleasant visit every time he’s been on till. Quite unfortunate for the rest I guess.

Overall I really enjoyed my visit to this cinema, the seats were very nice and the food and drinks are not horrendously priced for a change. We got a large combo (large popcorn and a large pepsi) for Β£8 which is decent. Only issue we had were the toilets, they massively need an update. They feel very old and several of the doors weren't working. Then some of the ones with working doors were blocked or full of water. I'd suggest maybe revamping them to match how nice everything else is

I went with my 2 daughters and 6 grandchildren. This was my first visit to The Savoy and I can say I was really impressed. There wasn't any stairs to climb only to get to the seats we had booked We booked the double seats which were very comfortable, the seats had a place for drinks which is great especially for the kids. The only negative thing I can say is it did get a bit cool other than that I will be back!

5 stars for the cinema itself, so clean and comfortable to be in. 1 star for the staff. They are so slow and always seem to be away with the fairies. Every single time i come i am stood waiting a good while for someone to scan us in. They are more interested in standing chatting with each other. Lets the cinema down.

Cracking cinema! Fantastic experience everytime we go. Staff are really great with the kids, especially when they can't decide what snacks they want! Prices are spot on, seats, sofas and recliners are lovely. Highly recommend!

I wanted to leave a review for this cinema as it was our first time here and my wife and I were really impressed. We watched thor love and thunder in 3d, the seats are spacious comfy and even recline. The price of the cinema Is very good value and they even accept meerkat discount to make things even cheaper. We had a tango ice blast large, a hotdog each and shared a popcorn. The staff are all super friendly and even gave us a ticket to make our parking reduced from over 5 pounds to 1 pound only. Overall 10/10 expierence We used to travel to meadowhall cinema but will be using savoy for all future cinema dates. Thank you to all the staff today.
