Went to get some wine, got ID’d and she said It doesn’t look like me. I told her I was 17 In that picture ( now 19) and I’d had a nose surgery since, she wouldn’t accept and told I needed to bring in my passport which just has the same picture. I then sent my boyfriend in, and she denied him too and told him to bring his passport aswell which he is quite literally 7 in… I think she is defeating the object of having an ID? What the point if she won’t accept it??

Denise what you have failed to mention in your review is that you were attempting to purchase alcohol and ecig liquid for a minor which is a criminal offence for which you could be prosecuted and fined. The member of staff you are referring to is actually my son and fully understands the Licensing Act as do all my employees. Having viewed the cctv footage of the incident he acted correctly and calmly by refusing to serve you with any of the items you were trying to purchase however it is a shame that the same can not be be said about you and the boy who was with you. You were both verbally aggressive to my son and you even had to drag the boy out of the shop as you were told that if you didn't leave he would phone the police. I have actually contemplated handing the cctv footage to the police as the Licensing Act is there to protect people especially minors but it would appear that you have little or no regard for the law. I would like to thank ALL my staff for adhering to the Licensing Act and for all the refresher training they complete on a regular basis as this situation just proves what a good job they are all doing.
1 member of staff who claimed his mum owned the shop is a total disgrace hjs attitude is appalling and he doesnt understand the licensing laws i have used this shop for a number of years , as have many of my friends and family and none of us will ever use the shop again .Get your facts right young man and drop the arsey attitude !
