The paint mixing section is absolutely fantastic! The staff are incredibly friendly, patient, and knowledgeable; they took time to understand exactly what I needed, explained the differences between products, and perfectly matched my colour with the Valspar mixing service. Huge range of quality paints, primers, and tools, all well-stocked and organised. Made my DIY project so much easier and enjoyable. Best paint department I've visited. Highly recommend!

No option for 0 stars! I visited the store today to buy one thing. When I got to the till point there was one customer in front of me and self checkouts were closed. It took the cashier so long to try to process one refund for the customer in front (I stood there for 15 mins), that she called someone to 'queue bust' and open the self checkouts as the queue behind me had built up to about 15 people. I was next in line to be served, but rather than call me to the self checkouts first, the staff let all the people behind me on them, whilst I'm standing in the original queue like a mug!! The cashier was so slow and incompetent (she could not read the writing on the receipt, asking the customer to read it for her, when that didn't work, calling for help to 'queue bust' (which she wouldn't have needed if she was competent enough to do her job efficiently in the first place) and not continuing with the refund because she's too busy looking around) that I had to walk around the front of the tills and jump on a self checkouts, causing other customers in the self checkouts queue to think I'd jumped the queue, when I'd been there for at least 15 mins, long before the self checkouts were even open, and before they'd even started to queue. If you do not have competent staff, that can not process one refund in a timely manner (it took her altogether over 20 mins, still wasn't done when I'd left the store) then you should either have the self checkouts open at all times or hire competent staff! I only visited Watford B&Q as they were the only branch near enough that had the item in stock! Never again! I'll go to Wickes next time! Sort it out! Hire competent staff!

Went in this morning (28.11.25) had to exchange some paint for bigger tubs. In and out in 5 minutes. Staff helped me to find the correct paint. Then went to checkouts where we was greeted and served my Felix. What a kind soul. Me and my elderly father were taken back by his customers service. He really did start out day off right! We need more people like him!

Revisit Massive shop. Surprisingly relaxed atmosphere at the weekend inside (parking outside quite busy). Good shopping experience and helpful staff. 2 hours free parking can be limiting if coming in more relaxed DIY mood and considering options. 2022 Huge shop for pretty much anything DIY you can think about. Surprisingly quite for Saturday midday. Guess Xmas present buying is more desperate this weekend than decking the halls. Very helpful staff in the shop in every corner were happy to chat on what seems to be a quite day.

The Paint Mixing of Velspar paints is in the front of this very large store. Hesina was very knowledgeable, informative and helpful in finding us the colour closest to the colour we were looking for and mixing it for us. A very good service.

Been a while since I visited. Both parts are now on the same side of the estate. I was not ready for their trolleys to need a coin so had to struggle with my building materials to the checkout. I didn’t find the materials lay out particularly unhelpful and having the sand outside almost guarantees you’ll get wet sand. This checkout was efficient and in fairness the lady cashier did offer me a trolley.

Nice shop BUT online it had a stock listing of 4 Philips Hue bulbs and ZERO actually on arrival (i.e. stock count was incorrect not that they had been sold!). Very helpful staff looked for a good 15 minutes but didn't manage to find them. A bit annoyed as I had to drive from a different town to get there.
