   I’ve had to change my five star review. To 1 star after my last encounter with Lawrence. I’ve been shopping with them for 4 years and have spent 100s of thousands of pounds on materials as I am a contractor. I ordered some timber on 13/03/2023 in the morning to be told I would have it later the same morning. I waited and called 3 times in the afternoon as it had not arrived and I have people who work for me and the material had ran out. While I understand it was not delivered because they had transport issues and these things happen I was not happy how I was spoken to the next day. When I called in the morning He quoted “I called him 8 times and lorry had broken down.” When I just called him once the following day to see what was happening as a normal person would. He then went on to say “you can go and buy it somewhere else” the other guy who works there is very welcoming and ok but this guy Lawrence has attitude problems. You can’t speak to your customers how you think is right. We are not taking materials for free Rather I’m putting 100s of thousands of pounds in to a local builders merchants but I don’t think he seems to understand that. For that reason after many years of business I will no longer shop here. I would rather spend a little more elsewhere to receive a better customer service and be valued. Lawrence needs to sort out his attitude issues and if he don’t know how to talk to a customer without his sarcasm or with a welcoming attitude he is better off loading lorries in the yard instead of working in the front.

   20-100% more expensive than Wicks/Toolstation I shopped there a few times as it's closer and more convenient than Wicks/Toolstation but their prices are 20% more than what I would have paid for bonding plastered or multicoat in Wicks (I get 10% off) and 100% more than Toolstation for plastic hawk and some pipe fittings. When I asked if they could discount a little was told a very straight NO. Thought I was helping a local business but clearly they are doing well and don't need my business.

   For anyone who is thinking of doing their garden fence. We just did our fence and can’t thank JB Jessop in East Ham enough. We got the concrete posts, gravel boards and fence panels all from them. They came out cheaper than anywhere else and the quality was way better than the major diy shops, plus they delivered it for free! So chuffed as he was so helpful!

   Bought a high level toilet cistern. Excellent customer service and very competitive price. When a problem arose with the cistern fittings due to suppliers issues, I was supported brilliantly and these were resolved quickly. Would definitely recommend.

   Great service from these guys each and every time I have ordered. I am a local resident at Masterman Road and used some of the usual big names for doing my garden job. However, ran out of some of the supplies as my builder estimated it wrong. Couldn’t find any place that would supply as quickly the rest of the items needed. And as you know builders are slow doing the work when material is available to them but tend to rush you when material has ran out. So I called up a friend who referred me to Jessops. I have walked passed this shop many times and it looks deceivingly small from the front. They have a huge yard at the rear with all the material needed. Delivery time was excellent as was the customer service. I am very happy to have found a gem of a retailer right on my door step. Keep up the good work guys!!

   I cannot believe what has just happened ordered 11 panels and 2 gravel boards from Jessops thought I was doing them a favour giving the local firm my business. I was told that they would deliver between 10am and 12 noon and that someone will ring me when they load the lorry. No phone call and the panels were delivered at 9.45am !!!!! How does that work. I rang the shop only to speak to someone who couldn't care less. His attitude was that he said sorry albeit in a sarcastic tone followed by the words "what more do you want me to say" REALLY is that how to run a business. No wonder no one uses Jessops the only thing they are good for is selling the odd DIY item. Heaven forbid if you ordered a kitchen from them. As far as Jessops are aware my 11 panels @ £26 per panel and 2 gravel boards are sitting outside the house. How does that work....... Let us have this right you have just put a response on here saying that you tried to call me and that I gave you an incorrect number.. As I said let us have this right you or one of your colleagues failed to take my number down correctly just saying...the number you put on the receipt is not my number. Your response would indicate that I gave you a false number.... Yeah that would be right, I have had the same number for 12 years I think I can remember my own number.... Get your facts right, you maybe est since 1930 and believe me your unprofessional attitude belongs in the 1930's together with your chauvinistic manner. Just admit you got this wrong and two of your panels were split just saying....
