   I've used Lakedale for over thirty years and they've always been helpful and competitively priced. The knowledge Nick and Andy have of spare parts has been great over the years and has certainly made our life easier here, definitely recommend these guys!

   I hired a dehumidifier from the shop and was given a quote that at the time was not made clear does not include VAT. After a week I went back to enquire about the rate for additional days if I was to keep it a bit longer . After wasting my time looking for paperwork that eventually turn out to under someone else name I was assured “we will sort something out”. 3 days later I return the equipment that they had no paperwork for renting out to me and I was asked to pay a price equivalent to 2.5 weeks of the initial quote for 7 days. After expressing my disappointment of this and reminding Andy that I am returning equipment that he thought he lost as he didn’t have paperwork for it and reminding him he promised to sort something out but instead is charging me for extra days he made a reduction. The total price for 11 days I pod exceeded more than twice the quote given for 7 days over the phone. I would have hired the dehumidifier anyway but I’m left disappointed that they will not honour the quote they provided over the phone and tAndy charge me for extra days without making this clear at the time of renting out or at subsequent visit to enquire what additional cost I will occur if I was to keep it longer than I initially planned.

   I went to Lakedale Power Tools hoping to get my Padsole nail gun repaired. i run a loft conversion company and hoped Lakedale could fix the gun. I went to the store and dropped the nail gun for them to find the problem and fix. they charged me £20 to just check what the issue was. which i was happy to do. i was told within 2 weeks i will receive a call regarding the gun. i was a little shocked as 2 weeks just to give a diagnosis is very long. regardless, i gave it to them and kindly told him my work relies on a nail gun. please get back to me as soon as you can. i waited 2 weeks for a call which i obv didn't get. after 5 weeks of sitting on my nail gun without a call i went in store and told them i want my nail gun back. the guy over the counter goes 'oh we got a diagnosis, it will cost £300 to repair' at this point i went mental because they've had 5 weeks to tell me that. i took the gun back without it being fixed. UNRELIABLE service. shame because it was my first time using Lakedale and definitely the last.

   Extremely unfriendly and rude staff. My father is a maintenance technician for a big chain of local leisure centres, which funded him to buy himself new tools. Today he went to the shop at about 3 pm in the afternoon. At the shop my father asked to see all types of drills available so he can decide which one to buy. The shop assistant showed him only one. My dad asked him to explain what are the features of this drill and if there is a more expensive and better one to show it to him. Instead the shop assistant said that this is the drill my dad needs and he doesn't need to see others. Then my father asked if the shop assistant could test if the battery worked so he can be sure everything is in order. Instead the shop assistant replied in a very condescending way - 'all batteries are new, they work'. Meanwhile the second shop assistant was working at the computer and was laughing at the conversation my father was having with the other staff member. My father has lived in England for 5 years and knows English very well. However, he asked him politely to speak a bit slower so he can understand everything. Instead the guy continued speaking very fast and purposefully did not make any effort to help my father understand what he was talking about. Not only my father is a customer and deserves to be treated well but after all he is not buying a loaf of bread for £2 he was about to pay almost £200 for a new tool. He needs to be well-informed! This is absolutely appalling! It is unbelievable in a cosmopolitan and diverse city like London there are still people who show disrespect and are openly abusive towards other nationals. If this is what you think the meaning of customer service is then I would suggest you need to learn English better yourself!
