My 2nd time travelling and wife’s 4th. Another great break and excellent value for money. The hotel was great again and good choice of food - not sure what others are complaining about as if and issues the staff accommodated accordingly - all staff very friendly and had a good laugh with them. Had a great driver who took us all over and a little extra to Neptune Steps, many thanks Laco.

Thanks to all concerned for the wonderful trip last week to the Scottish Highlands. The whole experience was fantastic. The hotel, the food, the transport were exceptional and to organise the weather as well was well beyond the call of duty! I will certainly mention your firm to other U3A groups. Dorothy. I spoke to Cairngorm Travel the day after I returned from a 6 day coach trip and discussed a complaint I had made at the reception of the Durrant House Hotel and 5 nights later to the hotels email. A manager from Cairngorm Travel said he would take up the complaint on my behalf and asked me to put my complaint in writing. It is now over 14 since I confirmed that I wanted him to go ahead and take my written complaint to the Hotel. I have not received any notification that my complaint has been put forward to the Hotel and if there response to my complaint. I requested a table lamp on 24 September so I could read in bed before going to sleep. After five nights of having to get out of bed to turn the spotlights off over my bed by a mains light switch, in the early hours, I emailed reception in frustration and was left an old lamp on the last full day of the stay. I had paid a subsidy of £210, months in advance for a double room for single occupancy and looking at the rooms on the same floor I discovered that I had been given a substandard room. The last photo enclosed is that of a similar room on the same floor. My headboard had scratched surface decoration in the room was in poor order and the floor was never vacuumed during my entire stay. All this could have been avoided if the Hotel and then the travel company had had the decency to speak to me at the time of making request for a bedside lamp and then complaining that I did not have one, and then when I made the complaint to the travel company being fobbed off and dismissed as not worth speaking to. All I wanted was a good nights sleep.

I am a feeder driver for Cairngorm and the passengers all seem to have a great time as they go year after year.

We have had several holidays with Cairngorm travel and we can wholeheartedly recommend them. The hotel they use in Scotland is beautiful and all trips and excursions are normally included in the price. Our last trip was the Edinburgh Military Tattoo holiday they did and it was brilliant. I think they have stopped this trip at present tho.....such a shame, we want to go again. We also did the twixmas holiday and it's fantastic value. Lots of pick up points across the country. Give them a go.!!

Beautiful hotel, fantastic food, cooked to perfection and all allergies catered for.The hotel is Immaculate and all rooms are kept in first class condition. There is an open fire in the foyer as you enter and it reminds you of olden days standing with your back to the fire. It's wonderful. Coming up to Christmas all the windows in the best room is dressed with a Christmas tree in every window. My husband and I have been quite a few times, if you can go, then ,it is a wonderful place to base yourself in, the train station is just down the road, avemore is not far as is lots more destinations. Please give it a try.
