Stayed at Riverside Lodge, which is an idyllic location, at the start of September. Fishing from the pond adjacent to the lodge was just skimmer bream and small perch. The river is a very short 2 minute walk, gin clear and weedy ( time of year, no recent rain). Caught some nice roach, dace an a small trout. I can imagine this is a good spot for chub and barbel at a different time / conditions. Now the downside. The actual accommodation was very grubby/dirty and had obviously not had a good clean in some time. Old food stuck inside fridge, dirty kitchen worktops, disgussiting kitchen equipment, stained floor, mats and furniture to name but a few. There were also a number of advertised items missing on arrival. This is priced as a ' Premium Property'. It's not, when you have to clean up the propety yourself on arrival. Tip: Book direct with owner, NOT with agent or you may get caught in the middle of them both not wanting to take responsibility. We booked with New Forest Cottages.
