Small but nice pool. has 4 lanes and is only 20m in length, but reasonable facilities. a few vending machines and reasonable parking.

I never leave bad reviews but in this case I feel I have to. Absolutely awful experience with my daughter’s swimming lessons. Teachers leave constantly at the same level one week they are in the deep end then back in the swallow at level 3. Quick to take your money but never assess and provide feedback despite repeatedly emailing to ask. They finally agreed to assess 8 months after the last assessment and after I requested. Within 3 weeks there were 3 different teachers. First week she couldn’t carry out the assessment. Second week I was told she was assessing my daughter, the feedback was that she’d completed everything correctly but they’d run out of time therefore she would test her on the last couple of moves the following week. We went in tonight expecting to be assessed on the outstanding bits that they’d missed to find that she’d left and had passed no information onto the new teacher tonight. He’d never met my daughter before or seen what she is capable of. He reassessed her starting from the beginning feeding back breaststroke and backstroke which I was told she’d passed on the week before. No progression whatsoever. The classes are too big and the teachers change each week.

This is a lovely pool and often quiet enough to enjoy a swim alone or at times when taking my Granddaughter swimming, which we love. The staff are always friendly and polite and the newly refurbished changing rooms are lovely. My only complaint is the difference in how each particular life guards deal with situations. When we started swimming with our Grandaughter we were told she had to demonstrate she could swim a bredth to be allowed to go past the marker for the deep water, which is perfectly sensible advise. Today I witnessed a young man with 2 small children both under 5 swimming at the deep end, both children in arm bands. There were times when he was at the shallow end with one child, while the older girl around 4 yrs old stayed in the deep end. When she became alarmed she screamed for her dad who then swam to her leaving the 2yr old by herself in the shallow end. At no point did the life guard on duty, a very young man attempt to advise or tell the customer to move both children into the shallow part of the pool. Clearly the Life G was not comfortable delivering the message so ignored it, or they were not trained to deal with it which is equally worrying. This really needs to be addressed before there is an accident and delivering a difficult message should absolutely be part of the training

Super little gym. Pretty much every piece of equipment you could ever need split over 2 rooms. Really friendly, helpful and encouraging staff. Good selection of classes although popular ones fill up fast so book in early.

Pool is freezing!!!! Changing rooms often smell of urine. Pool and changing rooms very dated. Instructors very young and seem inexperienced, lifeguard just seem to be there for show and didn’t jump in when there was an issue. Poor instruction from teachers. Not enough instructors in the pool with inexperienced swimmers. Would recommend going elsewhere, there’s plenty of better options

Friendly staff but tired building and gym. Abysmal evening fitness timetable. Literally no classes on a Thursday apart from clubersise and swimming pool shut! The mind boggles! Surely Thursday is a standard gym or swim night for the working public. Essentially you have classes 3 evenings out of 7! Not good enough.
