Was hoping to look around but the only thing that was open was the cafe. A lot of areas was closed not sure if it was because it was November or refurbishment but check before going. Free parking which is nice

Fort Perch Rock, New Brighton* is a fascinating historic site that beautifully combines coastal charm with military history. Originally built as a coastal defence fortress in the 19th century, it stands proudly near the mouth of the River Mersey. While it’s no longer open to the public as it once was, the exterior alone is worth a visit. The fort's striking presence against the sea, especially at sunset, offers great photo opportunities. Surrounded by a scenic promenade and sandy beaches, it’s a peaceful spot to relax and reflect. A great stop for history lovers and casual visitors alike.

A really nice cafe bar where we had Scouse, a potato ash stew with lovely fresh bread and butter, pickled beetroot and pickled red cabbage. The red cabbage was pretty awful but the rest was lovely, very tasty. Free parking and lots of space for the dog to have a run around,, we had a really lovely day here.

Fort Perch Rock in Liverpool is an impressive red sandstone fort from the 1820s built to guard the Port of Liverpool and now open to visitors as a museum and event space. You reach it via a short causeway with views over Liverpool Bay that are perfect for photos at sunset. Inside you find military and maritime displays alongside a small cafΓ© called The Mess that often hosts live music, comedy and talks. There is also an escape room attraction that adds a fun twist to the visit. Staff keep the site well maintained and the fort itself feels authentic with solid walls and an engaging history. It is a good choice for anyone looking to explore local heritage while enjoying the sea air on Merseyside’s coast.

Picturesque and worth visiting, however found more information about it's history from outside of the fort and online. Liked the idea of the cafe, but on entering it was very dark and dismal. We didn't feel comfortable so walked out and went elsewhere. Still, it was nice to see from the outside and it's worth doing your own research. For someone who lives the other side of the country and hadnt heard of it before visiting the area, it personally just doesn't feel like they've made the most of it's history and has alot more potential.

Absolutely beautiful place. The cafe is so comfortable with an open log fire, keeping us warm on a cold day. The staff were friendly and the food was delicious. I love places that accept dogs, and they even have a dog menu! My dog Theo loved having his sausages after a run on the beach.

Lovely cafe, great location in this iconic building. Friendly staff ,good choice of snack meals, desserts and drinks and reasonably priced. Indoor seating does allow dogs but also has outdoor seating at front and rear of cafe. We'll worth a visit while on day out to New Brighton.

It was really nice. There is a lovely cafe inside. We could have some coffee and also had a lovely chat with the employee there that told us about the history of the place. Can't wait to stop by again

Nice place to grab a Coffee snack in the Cafe in the center of Perch Rock. Has a little outside seating area in the inside of the Castle or outside on the Walkway leading to it.
