The rooms here have been absolutely freezing every time I’ve stayed here. Air conditioning units take 25 mins to make the room warm if you can figure out how to use them. Reception staff have mastered the art of being polite but unbothered. The spa is lovely but would probably stay somewhere else next time.

The hotel itself is lovely and the rooms are very nice. I would not give this hotel a 5* review as i do not agree with having to pay £20pp for a 2 hour pool session. You are also not told of the fact the pool is not included until after you have booked. The gym is complimentary but the pool is not. We only picked this hotel for my birthday getaway due to it having a pool but £20pp is extortionate for what it is. We have stayed at many spa hotels before where the pool is also included for guests. As lovely as this hotel is i would not stay here again, i would find another hotel where the pool is included.

Stayed here for a one night spa break with my partner and we had a great time! The service was definitely the highlight of the trip. Every member of staff we spoke to from the hotel, restaurant and spa were all warm and friendly. Huge shout-out to Nick and Abbey who did our massages! The man who hosted us as the restaurant was brilliant too, unfortunately didn't get his name but it was the evening of Tues 25th. Same goes for our server too. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed. We visited on a weekday so it was probably quieter overall, but we had no disturbances during our stay. The spa facilities were great overall. Only disappointment was the mud rasul. The whole process was explained to us clearly by Nick and the selection of muds was nice, but unfortunately the room just seemed too small for purpose. We were warned beforehand that the vent at the bottom of the room where the steam escapes was very hot, but no matter how I oriented myself I couldn't really escape it. It was quite painful! So I wouldn't recommend booking the rasul. The hotel and garden were both beautiful and clearly well maintained. Thank you for having us! Hope to come back again!

Amazingly enjoyable and comfortable experience. The staff were very attentive and approachable, which made our experience even better. The icing on the cake was the delicious food served to us at the restaurant - fabulous! The birthday set-up was adorable and super thoughtful! Our door had a "Happy Birthday" banner and the room was full of colourful balloons and petals. We found the spa experience super relaxing, with added details to make the experience tranquil.

10/10 thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel and spa. Lots of free parking available on arrival we were offered a complimentary cookie (vegan and gluten free option available) which was a lovely touch. The spa was beautiful and treatments were amazing. All the staff were lovely and helpful. The room was also very nice and clean. The bed and pillows were so comfortable. The food in the garden room was amazing thanks to the chef James and our server Ava was amazing and made sure my dietary requirements were met. Breakfast was also great. Overall 10/10 experience and I’ll be back

My mum and I visited the hotel as part of a Spa Package, which was £250 for room for one night, 25 minute spa treatment each, 3 course meal and breakfast. The staff on reception were friendly when they greeted us and provide a welcome cookie, which was really nice. The spa and gym were really nice with good size pool (although a little on the cold side) and Jacuzzi. The spa treatments were really good. I had the back, shoulder and neck massage which was very intensive. In the evening we drank cocktails in the bar and the strawberry daiquiri was perfectly delicious. We then ate in the restaurant, which was little disappointing except for the sticky toffee pudding. Overall we had a nice break.

Stayed here last night with my wife. Looks amazing driving in with lots of parking at rear. Kai on front desk very helpful and proffesional(loved my 'welcome cookies'). Room was very clean, well kitted out and very comfortable bed. The bar/dining area is spacious and staffed well. Had a lovely night here and will definitely return at some point

I recently stayed here with my partner to celebrate my birthday. We had a very smooth check in and the cookies were very much appreciated! We had a party in the abbey suite Saturday night which was fantastic! The events staff in the evening were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. We used the spa facilities the following day which was very relaxing and the perfect way to end a great weekend. Thank you to everyone at the DoubleTree Chester.

Was here for a wedding and in itself it's a lovely venue. Stayed in a nice modern room. Breakfast is good with plenty on offer. The downside is that staff need more training.. When we ordered a whisky we got a gin and when we ordered a raspberry gin we got a raspberry vodka.. Prices were high too!

Lovely clean hotel. Very spacious not cluttered. Light and airy. To say its a large hotel, hosting a wedding on the weekend we were there, did not feel overrun with people. Food was lovely and reasonable except breakfast, I think nearly £18 for a breakfast is a bit steep!!! Spa was lovely and relaxing. Room was clean and simple. Bed was comfy but could do with a couple more harder pillows but I could have asked at reception. Staff were knowledgeable and friendly Only downside was the bar on Friday evening, it was busy and definitely need more staff behind the bar took far to long to get served.
