   Hygiene at Total Fitness is a joke. All staff walk around the pool area wearing their outdoor shoes without any protective covers. Many families who bring their children for swimming also enter the pool area with dirty outdoor footwear, without shoe covers. Even the person who presents himself as the manager enters the pool area with outdoor shoes when showing new visitors around the gym and swimming pool. I have raised this issue with staff several times, but nothing has changed. If you develop a skin infection, don’t look for another reason.

   Big gym. And expensive. However, I have raised few concerns to the team at Walkden centre. Where i left my contract number to get a call back . Despite how expensive this gym is , nearly ALL equipments are old and few tears on the weights which can be health tisk and a infection risk .

   (Walkden branch) Prices keep increasing but nothing new is ever added to the gym equipment is quite old and dated but it serves its purpose to be fair and they do have a variety of machines for cardio and weights. Reason for the 3 stars is the punch bags are probably one of the cheapest pieces of equipment in the gym to replace and the current ones aren’t fit for purpose they have 4 in the Walkden gym and about 2 of them are ok at best, one of them is that used and worn the stuffing at the top of the bag is non existent no idea why it’s still hanging tbh, the brand they seem to use for the boxing equipment do actually do some very good quality punch bags but total fitness seem to have gone for the cheapest options and the boxing area is always used and frequently busy so not replacing the punch bags when they need to and using the cheapest ones isn’t the greatest idea they also removed the boxing ring so the only thing I can say really is the price goes up but the gym equipment doesn’t improve or get updated, could be a great gym if they got new quality punch bags in as the cardio and weights area while is old it does serve its purpose and it has variety of Machines to target every muscle group.

   I rejoined walkden total fitness last month after being a member years ago, but unfortunately I’ve had ongoing issues every time I try to access the gym. • My card never works at the entrance, and I always have to wait for staff to let me in. • Staff have tried to “re-join” me around 10 times now, but the problem is still not fixed and nobody seems to know why. • The payments on my account since 17th July are inconsistent and unclear — I’ve been charged different amounts with no explanation. This has been very frustrating and disappointing, especially as I was excited to return after many years. I’m attaching screenshots of my account to show the repeated errors.

   Great gym, spacious and clean with friendly staff. Ladies only area is fantastic, plenty of machines and huge fans keeping the room cool even on a 25 degree day. Sauna, steam room, sanarium and hydro pool were all very clean and not too busy (I went at 1-3pm) everything working well/hot enough inside the rooms. I usually use Whitefield but I was in the area and was really happy I chose to go here in the end. Will definitely be back again soon.

   There are not enough adequate quantity of simple benches for workout. I had always to wait or share it. Still there are enough room for them to implement and supply more benches and TRX tapes. Need investment and look after. The Spa pool is also shut not working for long time.

   I visited this gym for a change of scenery and wish I had just stayed at my local. I took the train then walked a fair bit from the train station, which I expected. This gym needs a good dusting and deep clean! I used the gym & had a swim, every surface had a layer of dust. When getting changed after the swimming pool I noticed 2 lumps on my leg quite close together, I had been bitten! When leaving I let the staff know that I had been bitten just to make them aware, but they didn't seem to care and looked at me like I was lying to get a freebie! After I noticed the gym had also charged me an additional £1.50 because it isn't the gym I signed to. I started the day positive and motivated but left disappointed.

   Come here for swimming with my daughter. The small pool is nice and warm. The way the changing room doors are.. There's always a cold draft so leaving the pool isnt pleasant during winter times

   Pool is dirtier than our lakes with raw sewage in it. When you're swimming you have to watch out for all the debris because they don't clean this pool. Staff are typically just huddled around the pool chatting and doing sweet FA. I most probably won't be continuing after the years contract is up. Saying that when the gym closes they don't reimburse members for the days they were forced to close. On top of that most of their weight machines need you to steal a peg from a machine as they are all broken. When SnapFitness 24/7 opens in Moseley Common this gym will struggle. Since this review they had the audacity to increase their membership, stating they provide a good service. I definitely won't be rejoining. I have tried to send communications but this organisation doesn't communicate.

   I think that the gym is very overpriced, I have been going total fitness gym for many years in Wimslow as I use to love going there, and it was worth every penny and its such a better gym comparing to this place. I have only just moved into this area and this gym has shocked me, it’s absolutely disgusting, the gym is dirty, ladies toilets are dirty, pool is dirty and sauna seems to be closed all the time, my partner was in the gym area and he went to fill his water bottle and the guy that was working there said “why did you not put the weights back” which seems to be so rude as he was going back to them as he had the phone there too and they guy did not even apologise, baring in mind there is no signs saying to put the weights back and really even if he had forgotten to put them back, what are staff are getting paid for? I would think that it’s part of their job. People should really think before going to this gym as it’s not worse the money that you are paying at all. Disappointed would not even rate this as 1 star!!!!
