Amazing place, an absolute treasure trove of things you’d forgotten you even needed and which do the job much better than the modern stuff. Thought I’d beaten them by asking for a bolt for an antique sofa castor - but of course they had one! Possibly the last of its kind in Medway so please come here rather than the megastores!
I have used this place for many years and for MANY DIFFERENT things . I can always rely on them to have what I need and get handy advice. if I need DIY or gardening stuff or keys cut I always think of Johnstones! The price is always right! And the staff are friendly and helpful.
I stopped by this place as a last option type scenario as I could not find these non-metric screws used for my car amplifier. Luckily the lads in there were extremely welcoming and helpful and managed to find some and cut them down to size. The customer service was unlike anywhere I’ve ever been highly recommended.
Johnstones are a great independent hardware store with a large selection of screws, fixings and other general hardware to choose from and the team is always willing to assist you in what ever you're after. Brad is always helpful to what you need along with the ladies and if something is not in store they will order in which is prompt coming in. You can purchase small amounts or exact to what you require rather than full screw sets which is handy and supporting a local independent high street shop is another plus. I recommend a visit for any hardware needs as good value, family run business for any hardware bits & pieces.
The spring on my 27 year old ERA lock broke and Johnstones sent me an identical replacement one which landed on my doorstep 24 hours later. Brilliant service for a small but crucial item – it would have been much more expensive to replace the whole mechanism. Thank you.
Always extremely helpful and polite. This shop has got me out of difficult situations by having all types of hardware and tools in stock that are simply not available in todays superstores . Always a pleasure to browse with no pressure to buy but staff always offering helpful advice.
