I met a friend here for dinner on a Monday evening as it was a convenient place for both of us. I was really shocked to find that there wasn't a single plant based option on the menu and so my friend was able to eat and I wasn't. One of the bar staff did mention that it might be possible to make some kind of substitute but she wasn't sure. This is absolutely not ok - it's 2025. When I googled, I discovered that the Christmas menu did have vegan options on it - so the Village is able to cater to my dietary needs at Christmas but not the rest of the year. Sure, not that many people are vegan, but there are plenty of people with a dairy allergy and plenty that are trying to incorporate more plant based dishes into their diet. Village Hotel - you need to do better!!!

Lovely big hotel. Reception a little weird with an island in the middle to check-in with. I suppose it's a modern way. I had access to gym and the warm pool, was lovely to have a dip. Breakfast was a little chaotic, had to wait to be seated and food item had run out. Nice busy hotel. Standard room really big and spacious.

Very noisy, overcharged and took a long time to obtain refund. Service generally very slow - 40 mins to get a pasta dish. Shame as it's a very good and usefully placed charging station. We would have been back, but think we will go for the pub across the road!

Check n was very straight forward. We were asked if we were party of the wedding party, which we were not. Gab on reception immediately changed our room as it has allocated us one where the wedding group were staying, so that our room would be quieter. And it was. Our room was extremely quite and comfortable. And the rooms are beautifully decorated. And the bed was super comfortable. It was actually a shame we stayed for only 1 night. Id definitely stay here again.

Currently awaiting response from customer service. I will reflect my review when I have had a response/solution from customer services. I stayed here Village Hotel in Room 103 and had an awful experience. The hotel hosted a party directly below my room with loud, thumping music until 1am. At no stage during booking or check-in was I told this would be happening, nor was I given the chance to change rooms or cancel. The noise made it impossible to sleep, and when I complained at the desk I was simply given a free Starbucks by way of apology. I left my details for a manager call back, but instead I only received a short β€œsorry” message via Booking.com β€” with no offer of a refund. This is not acceptable. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, hotel guests are entitled to services carried out with reasonable care and skill. Putting guests directly above a party until the early hours without warning or alternative provision falls far below that standard. Under the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008, not disclosing such material information could also be considered unfair practice. I have had no proper resolution and no refund offered, so I will be taking this matter further. Guests deserve transparency and a decent night’s sleep β€” neither of which I got here. Staff were very apologetic, however management didn’t bother to speak to me.

Easy to find, very close to motorway. Nice big rooms for families. not much storage space if you plan to stay there for couple of nights or more- but that did not bother me much to be honest. The pool, sauna and steam rooms are a super plus and best ones. Staff very polite- please check timings before you get there and plan to use any of the spa facilities as website may not be right- depends on what is schedule on for the day. Had dinner at the pub- was good- hardly any vegetarian options in the mains menu. Breakfast buffet was very good. Overall very nice place definitely going to stay here again.

Lovely room. Big comfy bed each with really lovely quilts and pillows. Great that there was an iron and board. Very nice shower gel and shampoo . Would have liked to have used the pool but was a Β£5 charge which seemed a bit much when we had paid Β£80 for the room. Would be nice to be free for residents.

I haven't been here for quite a few years and it was a bit of a shock when I walked in. The bar area on the right has gone, so has the nice restaurant on the left. It now looks more like a sports bar/cafe. I don't think the changes have improved the Hotel in any way - but maybe they are trying to attract a different clientele

Overall, our stay here was very pleasant. The location was perfect for us, and the staff were both efficient and friendly. My one criticism is with regard to room amenities. Our stay was of 12 nights. Unfortunately, we had to live out of the suitcases, as there was no storage space for clothes etc.. I guess that it boils down to what the Village is; a hotel with leisure facilities ; or a leisure complex with rooms attached. I tend to think the latter. Despite the shortcoming, I would probably stay there again.

In a central area, a short walk from the town centre with plenty of parking. First impressions were that this was a bustling busy hotel with people using the leisure club and the on-site Starbucks. Rooms were clean - we had booked an early check in but this wasn’t available so we were refunded what we had paid. Great quirky decor with a fab sports bar. Breakfast was buffet style, a bit school canteenish but there was a good selection.
