   The shop itself is nice, with a good selection of things and helpful staff. However the car park and entrance need to be urgently sorted out. The corridor and stairwell to the shop from the car park is really dirty, dingy and very wet (there seems to be a permanent leak from somewhere). With plenty of other supermarkets a short walk away, unfortunately its enough to put me off returning

   Not sure if it's competition from the newly opened Aldi or Lidl or just over saturation of supermarkets in the local area but this Waitrose has gone really of the boil. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful and this is most certainly not a criticism of their efforts. More recently I've noticed the dates on produce have been very close to sell by and seems like every other item is discounted to sell that day or the next. While this is great if you want a bargain, it's not so great if you are buying mid week for a treat on the weekend. I dread to think how much food waste is going on and I really hope Waitrose has a good wastage scheme. On one or two occasions I've purchased items (tomatoes) and they have just been moldy at the bottom of the packet. Not what you would have expected from a premium supermarket. Again I just want to reiterate this is not a reflection of the staff they are genuinely lovely people.

   I’ve been shopping here for years Unfortunately noticed that staff a lot less professional and hostile Was accosted by one the other day to show my receipt after I had paid and was leaving I showed my receipt but the experience was shocking !!! Wondered if there was profiling going on Never happened in any other shops I have been to Discovered that Morrisons across the road is very good has a wider selection, very friendly staff and better opening hours…

   Normally like Waitrose supermarkets. But the this branch does nothing to deter to customers parking in the the 'no waiting' bus stop outside, dispite Waitrose having car park. Often causing traffc chaos. But on the 31.08.25 a grey Audi DA67 YAK spent a considerable amount of time hogging this bus stop. Then a middle aged member of waitrose staff appeared at 16.45 to load several bags into this this Audi, when I saw it was a member of Waitrose staff being inconsiderate to others I was annoyed. When I asked her what is wrong with the Waitrose car she was very rude and failed to answer my question.

   In the evenings the only option for checkout is often the self service tills. They do not work and customers are left standing waiting for help to checkout. Often the whole row of customers at the self service tills is waiting for help, with no assistance and no staff member in sight. The young staff on duty do not seem to care or to be supervised adequately. Other staff have told me openly that the self service tills do not work so it is very poor customer service to persist with them.

   a well stocked supermarket with plenty of variety. it has it's own parking which is free for 1.50 hours, just be mindful though as it is very narrow to get between the floors. conveniently situated in the centre of the town.
