I live near here so I know it like the back of my hand. There's all kinds of hiking routes if you want something easy or tough, you'll find it along here. Waterfalls, historical landmarks, rock formations are all along here if you know where to find them. On days when it's likely to be busy I only go if I can get there before something like 8 or 9am though because it does get rammed with no places to park. Either that or I wait until late, after 6pm.

Fantastic place if you enjoy hill walking. I've not given it 5 stars because there isn't free parking in the main car park.

Beautiful place to visit with so many different hiking trails for all abilities, it does get very busy, especially at weekends when the weather is good

Very beautiful scenery and multiple routes to take inc family friendly ones. Toilets on site but recommend taking your own supplies i.e tissues & hand sanitiser/soap as this can run out easily. Mobile business on site (ice cream van also serves drinks) and restaurant/pubs in the area if you’re looking for refreshments after the walk. We arrived at Dovestone at 2pm, probably recommend and earlier time to visit as there might be a wait for parking.

Beautiful scenery, there were a little rocky/sandy beach too. Lovely day out. We walked about 5 miles. It has ups and downs, so the surface is not flat which we liked. There was a pay and display carpark but the security didn't let us in as it was full. We parked up the road. Free of charge. Went in beginning of August.

Great place for a nice easy walk around the circular path will take around 30-40 minutes, you can go around the extended circular path which can be a little muddy which will take an hour and there are several other routes to walk down which can be medium to expert level. Overall great place to hang out with the family, enjoy the reservoir, river and scenery

We absolutely loved this place. There is plenty of parking inside and outside. We loved the walks and the safety of the whole place. We kept our dogs leashes near the water and then allowed them off whilst climbing the hills. Great hip climbing for novices and experts. We had a great day of weather which isn’t always guaranteed. Everyone was really friendly and there was also tourists too. Probably one the most picturesque places I’ve been too with plenty of instagram worthy pics and video spots. There is a holiday park should you wish to stay.

Lovely place to walk for hours with family, dog friendly too. You can also climb the hills surrounding the Reservoir. The car park however will not have enough places for everyone to visit, especially in sunny weekends, hence it is recommended to be there early in the morning . You can buy a snack and something to drink from a local amenity in the car park, also there are toilets for the visitors.

Only given 4 stars because of the car park. Very small and almost impossible to find a parking space. The positive is that there are working, clean, free toilets. The parking is pay and display. There are two machines, one for coins only and the other is card only. All day parking (until 23:45) is £4. I believe 1 hour was £1 The paths are paved and easy to follow. No picnic areas but there is restaurant near by. Bins are enough but I still saw rubbish in some areas. Shame on those who left it there! Thankfully no sheep or other animals so we were able to let the dogs walk free. There are sheep only in an enclosed area close to the car park (or we were lucky). It took us about an hour to climb up to Dovestone Edge. Then we walked to Dovestone Quarry and Rob's Rocks (no pavement here). From Chew Reservoir we turned back towards the parking (on paved road). Total walk 4 hours (we took our time)
