I had an extremely unpleasant and humiliating experience in Lidl this morning. While checking out at a self-service till, I used a Lidl Plus voucher for a free product, which worked correctly. When a coin got stuck in the machine, a staff member told me to move to another till and rescan everything — but the voucher didn’t apply again. When I asked for help, he removed the item from the system and told me to just pay the rest. After I paid and leaving, he called me back and accused me of not paying for the free item. When I tried to explain and asked for help, he snatched the product out of my hand, threw it into a basket for donation and said he “didn’t have time for this.” Even worse, he spoke loudly to other customers claiming I was lying for freebies and stealing, which was humiliating and completely unprofessional. Thankfully, the manager later came over and politely confirmed the issue wasn’t my fault, but the way I was treated by that staff member was unacceptable. No customer should ever be spoken to or treated like that in public. Lidl, please investigate this incident properly and make sure no other shopper has to go through such an experience.

Is this an airport or a supermarket? Why do you need to scan a receipt just to leave? A waste of paper and the one-way system forces you to buy something, even if they are out of stock of the one thing you wanted. I have never seen this at any other shop and I won't be foming back. A terrible customer experience.

Great value place to shop and 90 minutes of free parking is a welcome bonus. Not many tills are manned, so even using diy tills can take longer to get out at busy times. The club card is not very worthwhile so you can ignore that.

Discount barn-sized supermarket in Morden. You been to one Lidl you been to them all. Good selection of cheap stuff, and never forget to look at the bizarre items that are for sale at the end of the middle aisle. The Middle of Lidl, one day I expect to see a fiddle!
