    Omg! I had such an unpleasant experience last night. I shopped at Tesco Express Pentonville Road Friday night and my bill was 22ish pounds. The next day I noticed that the Extra chewing gum (85p) that I had bought was not in the bag but the bill was punched. In the evening, I went there to claim the gum. The Indian guy behind the counter was super rude to me. He said in a demeaning tone, "You should have come the same day; we can't do anything!". He made me feel I was lying. I left with such a bitter taste in my mouth thinking who would shop for 22 pounds and come back for an 85p item if they actually hadn't received it? :/ Regardless, I wouldn't miss any opportunity to skip visiting again even though it's the nearest grocery shop. :[

    I visited the store on Saturday 30th August at about 7.30pm and contrary to other reviewers found the man on the tills very friendly and helpful. Unsolicited he helped me print my Evri label and was very professional when I tried to walk off with the parcel I was supposed to be dropping off. This shop has a lot crammed into it, but that does make it a bit cramped.

    Worst customer service! All the staff here are extremely rude and not helpful at all!! Specially the man on the till who’s responsible for evri deliveries.

    I prefer to be able to shop without being followed around, and in this case, outside of the store. I shop (keyword here being shop, not steal) here several times per week, so not I'm not sure why this particular staff member was so overzealous - I was outside checking my receipt and then noticed he had walked outside to continue monitoring me, having obviously followed me around. Perhaps I am mistaken but I would agree with other reviewers who have suggested training around bias etc. It's a shame as I usually visit in the mornings and the staff then are generally friendly, but I was made to feel deeply uncomfortable for no reason today which is disappointing.

    I checked out many groceries at the self-checkout till there. After I paid with my credit card and was preparing to leave, the Indian man behind the cashier desk suddenly yelled at me because somehow the till screen showed a bottle of milk as not checked out—yet there was nothing in the bagging area. I did scan and pay for that bottle of milk along with my other items. When I was paying, the man was standing just one foot behind me near the cashier desk. The till even announced, "Payments accepted, thank you for shopping at Tesco," loud and clear. There’s no way he could have missed that. Since he called me back, it means he was monitoring the till closely—so closely that he could scrutinize the screen, yet somehow missed me paying and the till’s confirmation voice? Sorry, but I don’t buy that. When I confronted him—"Do you think I didn’t pay for that?"—he responded with a smug "Well, I don’t know," and then completely ignored me. He made no effort to verify the issue, propose a solution, or even acknowledge my explanation. Instead, he left me standing there, effectively treating me like a shoplifter over a mistake that was his own oversight and a technical error. While the security guard handled the situation professionally and allowed me to leave later, this does not excuse the staff member’s behavior. His dismissive attitude, and refusal to engage further were blatantly disrespectful. Given how closely he was monitoring the area, I find it hard to believe this was an innocent mistake—it felt deliberate, whether due to bias, poor training, or sheer negligence.

    Tonight I experienced for the first time a bad customer experience in this shop - I believe that the cashier is indian , completely rude and arrongant! Such a shame considering that the rest of the staff has always been great with me

    Absolutely horrible customer service. If I can given 0 star, I would. The cashier Charith is absolutely rude, aggressive, has zero respect to customers. Unbelievable that Tesco can tolerate such attitude.

    I was going to the self checkout machine but the guy with beanie insisted me to go for his checkout. I asked why but he didn’t respond. Then very coincidentally, he charged my reduced item as the original price, and thankfully I discovered that. Guess I was being targeted by the staff so that’s why I always prefer SELF CHECKOUT.
