The store is not ready at the opening and lots of mess you have to go through to reach the entrance. Pastries are still not ready at 7:30 in the morning. When addressing to some staff, they are not even looking at me. Mess behind the counter till. I go now to Sainsbury's Stockwell station, they have fresh croissants at the opening, the store is clean and tidy and staff is helpful. Farewell Tesco express Clapham road, I will never visit you again !

I had a genuinely shocking experience at Tesco Stockwell on 22/10/25 between 17:55 and 18:10 while trying to collect a package that I’d received a notification for earlier that day. When I arrived, I was told by a staff member that there was a “system error” and that my parcel wasn’t in the store yet. I explained that my notification said it was ready, but instead of checking, he called over a supervisor. From there, things got worse. The supervisor was rude, dismissive, and openly confrontational from the moment he approached. He refused to look for my parcel, saying there were “hundreds of packages” and that he “wasn’t going to get it.” At no point did anyone even ask for my order or package number — they simply refused to help. When I asked for the supervisor’s name or management contact details to make a complaint, he refused. I asked two other employees for help, and they also refused. The supervisor then said to me, “I don’t want to get it. What are you going to do about it, you idiot.” This was completely unprovoked and left me stunned. It genuinely felt like he was trying to provoke me into reacting aggressively just to justify not doing his job. Despite that, I stayed calm, didn’t raise my voice, and made no threats. I even asked the security officer who came over to stay nearby because I didn’t want the situation to turn physical — but he walked off moments later, saying to another staff member that he was going to pray. I was left completely unsupported and shocked at the unprofessionalism from everyone present. This isn’t the first issue I’ve had with this particular supervisor — whenever other staff are on duty, collections go smoothly. It’s only ever a problem when he’s involved. Refusing to give a customer their paid-for, ready-for-collection item during store hours is unacceptable and, in my opinion, borders on theft. Tesco really needs to review the behaviour and training of staff at this branch.

I walked into this Tesco to drop off a parcel and asked a staff member for directions. Not only did he not look at me, but he also rudely told me the machine wasn’t working — all while continuing his inventory work without even turning around. I explained I had been told to come back today after being turned away yesterday, and asked if he knew when it would be fixed. He just said “I don’t know,” again with no apology, no eye contact, and no willingness to help. The complete lack of basic courtesy or professionalism was shocking. A simple acknowledgment, a bit of empathy, or even just turning to face a customer isn’t too much to ask. Very disappointed with the disrespectful attitude.

Being a store manager of a number of retailers in my occupational history, this store must have severe back of house and behind the scenes issues, with experience you can just tell. The customer service at this outlet is utterly diabolical, they are not a good representative for this massive chain. I visit this store on a regular basis. Staff are unmotivated, unhelpful and completely unknowledgeable when it comes to stock enquiries. But the pits of this place, is the store manager, whom I have had to deal with recently regarding Evri pick ups and drop off’s, he is a patronising, unempathetic and arrogant individual that’s all I have to say regarding him, other than he is obviously stressed or overworked, probably both. I myself, fixed their Evri printing device for god sake, a member of the public, ridiculous! The best thing about this store, is the security guards, very friendly and very helpful. #ShameOnYouTesco

I second what every previous comment about the (appears to be) the manager - middle-aged man with glasses, slim, dark skinned but not black - tremendously rude to customers - my personal experience was returning evri's parcel. I asked his colleague about evri parcel return, and he said the machine was broken, who had okay service at this point. Following this, I saw the man I mentioned standing at the side, and asked him for tesco's contact or any other ways I can find out whether the evri machine is working before I come all the way with my parcels only to find out that it does not work. He said: "my colleague told you it's broken, do you want me to just repeat what he said?" with a smirk on this face while looking the other side when saying that. I don't think this is acceptable. If there isn't a contact, just say there isn't one, there is no need to be sarcastic or to mock a customer. If all the previous comments were about the same person, to which will need to be confirmed, there is some serious management issues top down, where the same poor customer service is bolstered by blind tolerance of customers and the higher management level. The fact that many comments repeat the same issue about evri breaking down is clearly an issue too. The two complaints will be brought further and followed up through complaint channels of both Evri and Tesco.

Tried to go in the store at 22:55 and was refused entry saying I was too late when the store shut at 23:00. Explained that I just needed to return something quickly and I would be out of the store in a few minutes. Raj was incredibly rude and just dismissed me completely without any explanation - he has done this a few times and refuses to communicate with customers. Shocking service - this is my local Tesco and I’m ashamed. Avoid Raj like the plague

I recently had the pleasure of interacting with two staff members at Tesco, Raj and Judy - at the checkout. Both were very kind, friendly and helpful. Thank you, Raj and Judy, for providing good customer service. :)

Amazing local store with great staff, well stocked, open early until late. The staff are always restocking with multiple deliveries but are helpful if you need assistance while they are busy. It’s a fantastic shop! My one request would be that they clean the scanners or the self-service checkouts more often as they get grubby and don’t always scan well.

Customer service below standards - especially a man called RAJ - such a rude and obnoxious man. Also, often basic food is not stocked up.

Tesco Express is a convenience store by the giant Tesco. It has a limited range of the most-popular and sought after items. Usually a little pricier than the supermarket a but the main aim is convenience. Handy for basics.
