Management are clearly bullying staff members, I witnessed one of the male managers getting in the face of a young girl and screaming at her, completely unprofessional how they let someone like that work anywhere is beyond me, I think his name was Jack what a nasty poor disgrace of human being

Shout out to Jack I had a great experience shopping at Home Bargains in Romford, and I want to give a special shout-out to Jack for his outstanding customer service. From the moment I approached him with a concern, he handled the situation professionally and with genuine care. It’s clear that Jack takes pride in his work and puts customers first. He was excellent at handling a minor conflict that arose at the checkout, remaining calm, polite, and focused on resolving the issue quickly and fairly. His communication was clear, and he made sure everyone involved felt heard and respected. You don’t always get that level of maturity and professionalism in retail, so it definitely stood out. Jack also went above and beyond to help me locate a product I was struggling to find, saving me time and frustration. He really knows the store well and seems happy to assist wherever needed. Overall, Jack is a credit to the Home Bargains team in Romford. Great customer service, strong problem-solving skills, and a friendly, helpful attitude — great stuff all around. I’ll definitely be returning to this location, and it’s staff like Jack that make all the difference. Keep up the great work!
I’m writing this review to express my serious concern about the lack of age verification at this store. Recently, my child was able to purchase a product clearly marked for individuals over the age of 18 without any questions or checks from the staff. The item, which was completely inappropriate for their age, was sold without verifying their ID or even asking about their age. It’s extremely worrying that a store catering to the public would be so careless when it comes to enforcing age restrictions on certain products. As a parent, this is the kind of situation we work hard to avoid, trusting that stores will follow basic legal and ethical standards. I strongly urge the management to enforce stricter policies and train their staff to properly verify the age of customers purchasing age-restricted items. Until these changes are made, I cannot recommend this store to families. This kind of oversight is not only irresponsible but potentially harmful.
Toiletries are cheap but mainly shop for the beer,managers specials.I E 3 cans of Brewood jagged edge at 99p,inniskilling andcgunn whisky stout 49p a tin.short dated but still drinkable.
A huge store with a variety of products. Good prices for some products, and great prices for others. If you know what you are looking for and how to compare prices from other shops, you can easily get a real bargain from this place.
Lovely store which is well placed in Romford Market. Lots of variety in stock and goods. Plenty of items on offer too. The store was very clean and the staff were genuinely friendly
No custard creams OR Tunnocks Teacakes. Bizzare queue management. Otherwise, simply a superb retail experience.
