I went to this place for the first time this evening and the last- not only as they're closing, but also a bad experience. It was very busy and no-where to sit. I approached the counter/ bar and informed the 'girl' serving that I hadn't been here but was looking for a stout. The range was limited to what was left in the fridges, no tap beer so she looked at the fridge and said they have no stout. I decided to go for a mid-colour beer to which she responds "as I don't drink beer I can't really advise". Then a big man (presumably the manager) took her and another young girl working there away from the front counter. Again, giving it a chance, I looked at the fridge and chose a dark wheat beer (Googled the German information). I asked to take away owing to the limited space, before finding a seat and changing my mind to now drink in. I'd paid £4.50 for a 500ml bottle and the big man said that's an extra £2.50 (very abruptly). I chose to leave, and took the beer home. No wonder they are closing with that poor level of customer service as they can't compete with other micro pubs around (Two Trees, Watford and Anchor Tap and bottle, Croxley) both of which know their beers and are pleasant with it!

Lovely gentleman helped me to find some beers for a Christmas gift. He was very friendly, polite and attentive. Excellent service

A great choice of beers, with taps and cans in a fridge. The staff know there craft and will point you to what you might like. Look out for the beer and food pairing nights.

Good to have somewhere within walking distance (well 40 minutes for me) where I can buy some good beer. Person serving was helpful and knowledgeable - alas I only bought two beers and disliked one quite strongly. I'll be back at some point to buy more...and maybe I'll persuade myself to give it 5 stars. They have a little area inside to sit down and enjoy a beer on tap too.

Excellent bottle shop cum bar in an area without many beer options. An extra tap or two wouldn't go amiss.

A very nice bar/shop where you can take out or sit in and sample your purchases of ales, ciders & drinks from around the world. I started with a home grown trappist ale and then moved to the other side of the Atlantic for a American trappist both of which were very nice but I'd say the Tynt meadow ale pipped the Spencer ale. This place has a great atmosphere with very pleasant staff to assist with your choice of drinks. Certainly worth a visit or three as there is such a large stock of drinks you would need to do several trips to work out what your new favourite tipple is.
