   I have been coming to Dempsey’s for over 15 years and have always experienced friendly staff, a great venue, and a good atmosphere. Unfortunately, that changed last Friday night. When I tried to enter, the doorman asked for ID so I could be enrolled on a new system that requires fingerprints. I raised concerns about data protection and questioned how safe this system is — Dempsey’s isn’t an airport facility, and I don’t feel comfortable having my fingerprint stored. As a long-standing member, this shouldn’t have been necessary anyway. The doorman refused to even check the system to see if I was already a member and simply told me to go home. I wasn’t drunk or causing any trouble — it felt like a complete abuse of discretion and very dismissive treatment. After more than 15 years of loyalty, this experience was extremely disappointing. I won’t be returning, and if this is how regular customers are treated, Dempsey’s risks losing many more.

   I have been coming to Dempseys for over 20 years. Always experienced friendly staff and a great venue and atmosphere. Tonight I tried to enter and the doorman squared up to me and asked if I was a member and I said yes. He asked for ID which I didn't need as a member and told me to go home. He wouldn't even check the system to see if I was a member or not. He just decided he didn't like me and smiled smugly and said its time to go home. Won't be coming back here again and will tell everyone to avoid as clearly it is not being managed properly

   0 stars deserved...safe space has now become a hostile, unhygienic environment after hours because nowhere else open. Entry fee expensive...staff rude...no LGBT roots left. Will not come back. Paying £8-10 entry for a roof over your head till the early hours.....not worth it

   It's so gut-wrenching for one of the few lgbtq+ nightclubs to be so unsafe and unfriendly. It would be a lovely place to be but, the staff do nothing to protect vulnerable people and even go as far as to harm said vulnerable people. I highly would recommend going somewhere else. The prices for drinks you get aren't really that worth it either. Better quality of drink for same price or more but, in other places that are much friendly and safer.

   It hurts me to leave this review as I've been going here on and off for over 20 years. It's a tacky oldschool gay bar that no one seems go to anymore except for the straights after they get kicked out of other places at 2am. Went in a few months ago the door staff told me to have my ID ready despite being a member for over 20 years, without being asked my driver's license was scanned and my 20+ year old membership card taken. The person on the desk then held up Thier finger I immediately realised they were asking me to provide a fingerprint and I refused as I don't want my biometric data stored by a private company as it's completely unnecessary, we then got into an argument about it at that point I pointed out I hadn't given permission for her to scan my ID either and she said she had also taken a picture (that I hadn't consented to) She dropped it and just let me enter. The next 3 hours there was only about 10 people in the entire place so I just left and I wont be returning after this experience.

   Spot on doormen, all you need, human beings, I was visiting the area and exceptions was made for somebody from WEST YORKSHIRE lol to enter, cracking doorman, cracking ticket man. Highly recommended.

   My friends and I go here quite often as it closes late and it's such a fantastic club. I can honestly say that Dempseys is a club where I genuinely feel safe, the bouncers/ security are always polite and helpful and do a really good job keeping people safe, if you have any issues they're always available to help. The bar staff and Djs are brilliant too! Really down to earth and will happily chat with you. They play a really diverse range of music and if they don't have a song that you've requested they'll download it for you. The drinks are well priced, and they have some interesting cocktails. Honestly, this is probably my favourite bar in Sheffield, it's a safe, fun environment that caters to people of different backgrounds etc. Love it.

   I'm am totally at home ! I enjoy myself everytime and the staff phenomenal! Down side the drinks are bitter maybe the taps need cleaning out . On a whole Dempsey's is the place where you would want to be if you want to enjoy a carefree night.

   got called a slag by one of the bouncers and his mom came up to me saying my skirt was so short my arse was hanging out and all the men were looking at me, did i ask for your opinion? and since when couldn’t people where whatever they wanted? avoid at all costs, security are tramps
