So disappointed with the Stockport store. I’ve just emptied the bags I collected from an online delivery as they have been hidden from my children and 2 items are missing. I obviously now have no time to go back to the store and my kids are missing presents for Christmas Day. Not an acceptable service.

someone who works in HR and deals with customer-facing standards regularly, I was genuinely surprised by the level of service I received from Helen during my recent visit to the Smyths Toys store at the Stockport Peel Centre. Helen was not helpful at all. She provided no useful guidance, simply repeated information I already knew, and made no effort to resolve my query. On top of that, her attitude was loud, rude, and condescending, which made the entire interaction feel unnecessarily uncomfortable and unprofessional. This experience reflects very poorly on the store, and I hope management addresses this behaviour to ensure customers receive the basic level of support and respect expected in a retail environment.

Brilliant service from the staff at this store. They were very helpful in locating a few items, checking stock for me and also obtaining some board games from the top shelf. No issues with this. We have used this store many times as it is our local branch and never had any issues. Ordered bikes and scooters from them, done click and collected and also been at the store when they host special offers (Harry potter lego etc).

Went to Smyth's to buy a scooter for my granddaughter. They were all fastened to the shelving. Asked an assistant if he would mind getting one particular one down to check the sizing. Told that he was not allowed to. Company Policy. Health and Safety. There had been some accidents in another store. I was not willing to buy without checking the size. Went to another company where they measured height of child and then recommended scooters suitable for size.

I recently visited this large toy shop and was thoroughly impressed by the wide variety of toys available. Whether you’re shopping for a toddler, a pre-teen, or even a collector, this store has something for everyone. The sheer size of the store allows them to stock an incredible range of toys, games, puzzles, and more. I was particularly pleased to see that they cater to all age groups, with everything from educational toys for young children to more advanced, creative options for older kids and teenagers. Even adults can find something intriguing here. Another positive aspect of the store is the pricing. The prices are quite reasonable, and they frequently have discounted items, which is a great bonus. It’s clear that they aim to make quality toys accessible to everyone, regardless of budget. Whether you’re looking for a simple, affordable toy or something more unique and high-end, you’ll find it here without feeling like you’re overspending. The staff deserves a special mention as well. They are always friendly, approachable, and willing to help. Even when the store is crowded, which is often the case on weekends, the staff remains patient and attentive, ensuring that each customer feels valued. One thing to keep in mind is that the store does get very busy, especially on weekends. If you prefer a quieter shopping experience, I’d recommend visiting on a weekday if possible. However, the bustling atmosphere is a testament to the store’s popularity and the high quality of service they provide. Overall, I highly recommend this toy shop for anyone in need of a gift or looking to add to their own collection. The combination of a vast selection, fair pricing, and excellent customer service makes it a standout destination for toy shopping.

Had a very good shopping experience at this branch. The staff called Jack helped me to get my car seat right away even I hadn't received the email that it was available to collect. I needed the car seat urgently. He was very helpful.

I've been to the shop a few times and I will say the toys are fair prices, lots of choice as well. However, if you need the click and collect / exchange desk you won't find a hurry between the staff. It's incredible how slow they work. For example, I went in on Dec 27, now admittedly it was rammed. The shop was heaving. However, nobody is managing the cues so people are getting confused and cutting in or stood in the wrong cue before they see that it filters off into other rows.. making it even worse! But have seen a couple of mebers of staff just walk around.. chilling. Then watch some who clearly works there on a day off exchange Lego and the lady serving him go at an actual snail pace while casually chit chatting about what it's like and her finishing at 3.. the people working on either side of this lady manage to get through 3 customers in the time it takes her to hand him a receipt Not joking when I say how slow. However the lady working to the right of her again.. casually strolling up and down the tills to get something like she hasn't got a rush in her. I was served by Jake who was clearly not in a rush as it took him forever to find a bar code on the underneith of a toy... This was while searching for it on a hand held device and seaching the system and going in the back for god knows what.. then rather than explaing the difference is X amount he declared "right you owe me X. Then when presented with a card it took him a solid minute to register that was happening. I'm all for being kind to retail staff in the holiday seasons I get it I've done the job myself but cripes.. this was like everyone in the shop was on pause. It is not the 1st time it has happened on this desk I've used it a number of times and each time wanted to bang my head on the desk for way of entertainment while they pee about doing .. I don't even know what Need some form of self service or, someone who sends people to tills with lower cues in.

God awful experience God awful experience. Went in to buy 8 packs and was sold 10 by mistake. Came back later to refund the product, to be told they were non-refundable trading cards. Even admitting liability in mis-selling the 2 packs extra but refusing to be of any help. I felt managers had an attitude and about as much compassion as a wet lettuce. First and last time shopping here, would recommend going to amazon or hell...even back alley Dave would have better customer service than what I feel i've gotten. I can only recommend DO NOT SHOP HERE.
