We booked the Yorkshire Wine School for a small corporate event and they did not disappoint. Charley was fantastic, the range of wines incredible. Everyone had fun and enjoyed the night and learnt a long the way. I would definitely recommend.
A great place to start your wine journey! The instructors are not only professional and experienced, but also warm and approachable. I’ve learned a lot and I’m excited to come back for more events!
We recently completed the World of Wine course and absolutely loved it. We got to try loads of wines we would never have tried otherwise. Laura was an excellent host and we learnt so much. Having thought I was a robust red lover, I find I have a penchant for aged white wines. We also enjoyed the selection of cheese each week and experiencing the joys of a good cheese and wine pairing. Will definitely been booking some more events.
Completed WSET2 course in March with YWS. An excellent experience, where I learnt a lot and really enjoyed myself, whilst tasting some great wines. The course is well structured, never rushed, and had great material. Laura delivers it enthusiastically and has a wealth of knowledge. Strongly recommend!
I recently completed a WSET level 2 with Yorkshire Wine School as it was a fantastic experience! Our class tutor was really engaging and the whole team are incredibly helpful and welcoming. The selection of wines was broad and utilised small, local businesses - great to see investment in the Yorkshire economy. If you’re thinking of doing a professional course or just booking a tasting for fun, you won’t regret it!
We attended the Fish and Chip Fizz night in York on 15thNovember and were not sure what to expect as this was a gift for us and the first time we had attended any sort of wine tasting! We would definitely recommend this experience to anyone interested in wines. We learned so much in 2 hours- in a fun and supportive atmosphere. The passion and knowledge for wines was evident and the guided experience of tasting 6 wines both alone and then again alongside food was fascinating in the way the flavours changed ( or didn’t change!) We really enjoyed the evening! ( Jane and Mike)
Great place to learn all about wine. Its a fascinating journey to learn from the moment a vine is planted, to the weather impact, how it's made to how it ends up in my glass! The team at YWS are brilliant at taking you on the journey of some great learning whilst tasting some amazing wine and keeping it fun too! Laura sure knows what she's doing!
Another wine tasting experience comes to and end with the last week of the four week, Iberian Adventures with Laura in charge of the tasting as usual. An excellent and somewhat interesting range of wines over the four weeks, made all the better with the background and tasting explanations, along with the company each week, some regulars and some serious wine scholars. I can't recommend Yorkshire Wine School, Laura and her team highly enough.
YWS, and especially Laura, have an excellent array of different wine tasting events - whether you want to just have a fun evening with friends or study for an internationally recognised qualification they have you covered!! Most recently we enjoyed an excellent 4 weeks looking at Spanish and Portuguese wine. Laura has a great teaching style and even better wines! (She also brings some pretty good cheese too!) I would highly recommend any of the YWS events and for me, next up is the Christmas cheese and wine special:-)
