My son started drumming lessons at City Music School 2 years ago and he absolutely loves them. His tutor, Louis, is amazing with him. My son is autistic and sometimes finds instruction incredibly difficult but Louis's gentle teaching and fun style really encourages my son to be confident in his ability. My son has passed every exam he has been entered into with distinction because of the excellent teaching of Louis and Mark. Thank you so much.
Both my boys attend classes here (guitar and drums) and love them. Their teachers are both great - the perfect balance of pushing them enough to learn but also being relaxed and making the lessons fun. The whole team are really friendly and quick to respond to questions etc. Definitely recommended!

I love my Saturday morning guitar lessons. It’s become a ritual that i can’t move away from. Mark & Rich are lovely people & Rich is an awesome gigging guitarist with an easy going relaxed teaching style which suits me and i find very conducive to fun learning. I’ve really noticed the difference in my playing, have a much better technical understanding of music, got more expressive & my songwriting has massively improved. Thanks guys you’re fab & fun. M
This business is awesome, I’m currently 14 and I’ve been playing drums since I was 6 and guitar since I was 8 and I have my drums grade 8 exam later this year. The teachers are awesome and you learn a lot.
My son attends drum lessons. He is aged 8 and was completely new to drumming when the pandemic hit, however, this did not impact his learning and the teacher adapted to quality online lessons and has now resumed face to face in a Covid safe environment. Great teaching. Would highly recommend.
I cannot speak highly enough of City Music School and my drum teacher Mark. My playing has come on leaps and bounds since starting lessons. This has resulted in very pleasing grade results through to high grade levels. As someone who took up drumming late in life, I never presumed this was possible. The expertise of my teacher is unquestionable and I recommend this business unreservedly to anyone who wants to learn the drums!
Mark lee is an amazing Drum teacher and I am lucky to have been taught by mark for many many years. He has taken me through grade 3 to my distinction at grade 8, and still continues to inspire and teach me with every lesson in the years since. I would strongly recommenced him to any passionate drummer of any ability, whos interests span any style. With his appreciation of good technique, but of course musicality, which is what its all about, he will make a great drummer out of you.
Both my children are taught by Mark Lee and they LOVE it. My son first started 2 years ago at 6 years old, while my younger daughter and I watched the lessons. My daughter could not wait to start lessons with him when she was old enough (even though she is a really shy child, Mark gives her the confidence she needs). My children have very different personallities but Mark is able to bring the best out of both of them. At the end of last year my son took his first exam getting "Distinction", they are both taking their next Rock School exams at the end of the year which they are excited about. By being taught by Mark it has given my children musical abillity beyond their years. Mark is a very patient, encouraging and understanding teacher. When they are tired from school he understands that, but also he can see when they need pushing too. As a parent you do not need to sit and watch the lessons, children can be dropped off. But as I have sat there week in week out I have noticed that even if I was not able to do that, Mark liases very closly with all his students parents. The drum kits in Rhythm City Drum School are fantastic. Mark uses the best there is. I believe he is one of the best drum teachers in the country and we are lucky to have him in this area. Motivating, exciting, patient and kind, he inspires his students and I would not send my children anywhere else.
