If there was a 0 Star this would be too high! People on floors, in corridors, zero staff urgency, compassion or empathy. 6-8 Hours to be handpicked to sit in different room to go through the same process. Blood testing becomes a stopgap and time buying tool, whilst they dawdle through shift changes, for the next staff member to take hours to recalibrate into their role and take you through the same pointless procedure to bide time because of poor communication/handover processes. It's no individual staff members fault, but a damming measure of an outfit that has no authority, standards, organisation or discipline - the result is unreasonable timescales, lack of treatment and severe risk to peoples health. It's a Fantastic Poster of the sinkhole standard of healthcare in the country - and quite frankly embarrassing. We might as well go to a third world country for treatment - at least there's a sense of urgency.. RANT OVER. I'd rather drive 200 miles away rather than go here again.

Recently attended A and E as a patient. Very impressed with the new location and set up. Very organised with several waiting areas, vast improvement from previous A and E. Well organised and efficient, all staff i came into contact with were professional and polite. Waiting time was acceptable, one should accept that this a busy A and E dealing with hundreds of walk in patients . Patience is the watch word . To me the wait is more than acceptable when considering the high work load . I was admitted as an in patient firstly to Majors ward and then to ward 32 . Throughout my stay i was impressed by the professional and polite attitude by all members of staff i came into contact with and the high standards of care. I found the ward very clean and well maintained a credit to all. A vast improvement from the last time i had cause to visit the hospital as a patient several years ago Peter veevers

On 30 September I was admitted to Arrowe Park Hospital A&E by ambulance with symptoms of a heart attack. An ECG by paramedics had showed changes in the heart recordings. I also advised A&E staff that the symptoms I was experiencing were the same as a previous heart attack. I was given no treatment or examination. I was simply taken to the general waiting room in A&E with all other patients and waited for nearly 2 hours before I was called for an ECG. I was taken back to the general waiting area, and shortly thereafter, I was advised that i was being moved to resuscitation due to the results of the ECG. I was given some morphine for the discomfort I was experiencing. I was advised that Broadgreen had been contacted and an ambulance was coming for me. I was transferred by blue lights and sirens to Broadgreen Hospital were a team were waiting for me and I underwent emergency treatment for a heart attack. The staff at Broadgreen asked me what the delay had been at Arrowe Park Hospital but I couldn't give an explanation. The delay at Arrowe Park Hospital could have led to further damage to my heart or even my death. I would have expected that I would be treated at the very least as an emergency by the A&E team upon my arrival by ambulance, especially due to the symptoms I was displaying and due to my past history and not simply put to one side in the general waiting area. This review is soley for A&E. I cannot comment on any other part of the hospital.

This review is based on my last appointment at the hospital with ENT. After years of back and forth with my GP over severe sinus issues, where I would get regular sinus infections and would need antibiotics, I was finally referred to ENT. My GP believed my septum was deviated along with narrow nasal passages causing the infections. The appointment kept getting pushed back and back to the point were I actually waited over a year for my appointment day to arrive. When I arrived at my appointment the doctor, although friendly, didn't seem to listen entirely to what I was explaining and seemed unknowledgeable on my issue, which I find strange as they have access to my medical records. Surly she could see my history with these issues and what kind of medication I have been offered which did not seem to be working. In the end after a brief examination she advised my septum was not deviated like my GP had said, and yes my nasal passages were narrow, but surgery would not be an option and would not help. She advised surgery to open the airways is classed as "cosmetic" and not covered under the NHS. Not really sure how surgery to elevate a health problem is classed as cosmetic? I was yet again given a different steroid nasal spray which caused me further issues with my sinuses, it burned my nostrils causing blistering and bleeding within the first week of using, therefore I had to stop using it. I was advised this would be reviewed in 3 months and I would receive another appointment from them. It has now been 7 months since my appointment at ENT and no contact has been made by anyone to review my medication. The lack of patience care through the NHS is disgusting and we are being failed by them. We are already experiencing stress and discomfort with our medial ailments and should not have the added stress of chasing healthcare providers who have promised a service which is not being provided. I very rarely go to the doctors or hospital and this is down to the fact you just feel like nobody really cares or will actually do anything you need for you. I understand NHS staff are stretched and undervalued by the government, and I have dealt with some exceptional medical professionals in the past, but it is clear to see how bad the NHS is becoming and how it is affecting us as patients massively.

My 4 year old has just been in two days of emergency care at Arrowe Park for mastoiditis, before being transferred to Alder Hey for an emergency operation. The care that he received from the doctors and nurses at Arrowe Park was out of this world. Despite being in for a very serious condition and requiring constant IV antibiotics and pain killers, a CT scan and more, he actually didn't want to leave. Every time he so much as whimpered in pain a nurse would appear to assist in any way they could, and if a doctor was required he was seen immediately. The effort that has been put into curating their play rooms and sensory rooms in the children's ward is so impressive and made a huge difference to his experience. Thanks to every single person that was involved in his care.

My husband had a biopsy yesterday and needed a blood test prior to this . I can’t praise the staff enough. His blood test had to be put in a bag of ice and taken straight to the lab, his letter arrived late so the secretary arranged for him to go . We didn’t have to wait went straight through, then there was a cancellation in the Endoscopy Department so he went straight there all done by 1pm. Outstanding Service

Visited the Endoscopy unit today 10th November, greeted warmly by reception staff, seen by a lovely nurse named Flo, who immediately put me at my ease. Was then seen by a Lovely Doctor who sat and went through the entire procedure with me. Explained everything very sim0ly and really helped me relax. All the staff today were brilliant, very reassuring, kind and considerate. The entire unit was spotless. Thank you to uou all.

Fairly standard. Went for supernumerary teeth out. Had to have a series of x-rays, letter that was sent told us to go to the X-ray department, but when we got there we waited at least 2 hours before we were told that my scan was to be done in the maxillofacial department. Then was put on a waiting list, I estimate that it would have taken around 2 years before I got anything had my orthodontist not sent a passive aggressive letter to them. Works as a hospital but a bit slow.

Just lost my Dad in Arrowe Park and must give credit where its due. The conditions aren't the best, the views aren't a picture, but the staff just never stop. Cleaners and domestics, health carers, staff nurses and doctors all working so hard and with great care and compassion. It was a difficult time, but I was really impressed with the attitude of the staff and the timely manner in which things happened. Thanks.
