My partner had our son here and they were all excellent. Everyone was so caring and considerate. The Infant Feeding Team where unbelievable. We hadn't appreciated how difficult breast feeding could be. They were always on hand to provide advice, tips and most importantly reassurance. Helped to make what could have been stressful a calm and enjoyable experience for mum and baby. Thanks again to everyone who helped us.

Can't check appointment on behalf of other half even though I am the father to be. Bit annoying as the other half has a full diary and works for the NHS and barley get's time for lunch. The one day she had time to call and after being on hold yesterday for over 40mins we were told to wait for a letter with no date and being near the later weeks of the first trimester screening weeks as written on the NHS site this is appalling.

Unfortunately a very bad experience overall. A traumatic labour with hardly any attention from the leading midwife (she was mostly absent), my husband was practically my main help and looked after me through the entire labour (telling me when to push, when to rest, how to use gas and air etc). Manoeuvres without given consent (e.i. sweep/turning of the baby), rude leading midwife (sarcastic comments, impatient). I was refused painkillers (despite of many requests). Very abrupt treatment during an already painful time which is labour and birth. Some problems with stitches. We were kicked out from the labour room soon after stitches. My baby's tongue was misdiagnosed. These are just some details. Many emails and a meeting later I am pregnant again and I am already not treated seriously (some health problems being ignored) despite many promises of better care in the future. I suggest if you want your feedback being taken seriously, provide it externally. My internal feedback didn't achieve much but cost me a lot.

Absolutely slow and everything must wait. Hours of waiting !! Booked in to be induced and basically wait 10 hours to see doctor. So disappointed. If you have anything to say or complain there is no chance. No one wants to hear anything. Everything in their own time but not the patient's. Shouting on corridor for someone and finding out they all chatting in little office pretending they busy...

First class care with a team of flawless midwives. Had a positive birth experience thanks to the professionalism, care and passion of the team (special shout out to Lucy W - cannot thank her enough for shaping my birth story and her incredible and personal care throughout). Despite a couple of emergencies which justifies doctor intervention, the whole team were calm, efficient and seamless. The aftercare from the midwives and breastfeeding support team were also unparalleled. Facilities were fantastic with partners being able to stay in the same room sign their own bed.

Very hit and miss. While some midwives and nurses were wonderful, others simply lacked. Some you couldn't fault, their handling of us and our newborn was wonderful. Sadly it is soured by some who shouldn't be in that profession. The added stress due to a few of the nurses/midwives made us want to get out of there as quickly as possible. A huge lack of communication about what you can do/can't do and need. Lacking the basics like sticky bandages, only one provided for a c-section and trying to make do with non-sticky ones that were clearly not fit for the purpose. Funny all of the "issues" in the hospital cleared up once we were home and allowed to go off our own commonsense, some of the reasons given why our baby wasn't feeding, etc. makes me wonder if some of these nurses are 'qualified'.... and in what. I don't expect private quality from the NHS, but unfortunately the NHS at the Wirral Women and Children's Hospital aftercare is like flying Ryanair, you get the seat, but everything else isn't provided.

This review would have got a 5 if it was not for the sonographer carrying out my Daughter's 12 week scan. The reception staff support staff and midwives were wonderful, caring and attentive with no end of help and information. The scan for my Daughter and her partner was rushed. My Daughter's partner was told abruptly to sit down when he was attempting to get a better look at his baby for the first time. He was wasnt afforded any questions or given any reasurrance. This should of been a wonderfully experience for my Daughter and her partner unfortunately due to one individual it was not. This may be a job there may have been a huge work load. Those things I understand working as a full-time nurse but a first look at your first baby should be wonderful and lasting memory this unfortunately will be remembered for all the wrong reasons
