Moved here recently from Hindley health centre. Wow what a difference it’s genuinely a massive upgrade. The reception team are lovely and it’s extremely easy to access appointments.

I just had to review and tell you how fantastic Dr Sean Cusack is. I’ve had 2 appointments with him previously and he really listens and looks into things in depth. I’ve been to the surgery a few times about the same issue and only after seeing Dr Cusack do I feel that I’m making progress, he’s fantastic! The surgery as a whole is good and I never struggle to contact or get an appointment. All the GPs and nurses are really friendly (especially as I have quite bad anxiety!) I always feel at ease and looked after.

So I moved into the area a couple of years ago and so far I've never had a problem with Pennygate. The receptionists are understanding and listen to my problems. When ever I have needed something to go through urgently they have been there for me which is much appreciated as I've been diagnosed with mental health problems.

So, 10 months on, and I find myself here again, with the same situation. At one time, a GP did everything, give Flu jabs, took blood, syringe ears etc, everyone has a part to play in this place. I was in the room with the doctor for a good 10 mins, he could see my concern, he could have took my blood in less than a minute, but someone else has to do that, and I have to wait 3 weeks for them to get around to doing it, or travel to Wigan/Leigh hospitals to get it done in 2 weeks, in the meantime, my body struggles on with it's defect. I tried to bring up another issue with the doctor, but I was out of time, and was told I'd have to make another appointment to discuss that matter with him, an absolute joke this place!

I have been going to these doctors for the past 2 years generally over the same issue. The only thing they were great for was diagnosing my PCOS. After that everything gets blamed on that or my mental health. Ive had ongoing non specific general health symptoms go on for the past 6+ years and they have now refused to diagnose me. My bloods show high reference limits and when I questioned them over it they said its nothing to be concerned about bearing mind some of these tests were positive for an autoimmune condition or borderline. My monocyte counts have been during this year of tests and even some low reference limit which ive never experienced coming back on tests. Now they are saying its psychological because I dont meet the criteria for them to get to the bottom of it according to 2 of their doctors. I have not lost weight since birth and I am clinically borderline for obesity ive asked for support to lose weight but because of my age, pcos and apparently my weight although the guidelines meet I dont fit the criteria. Another thing I have noticed is the good doctors have left there was few id go to and they would really get down to the bottom of it. The only doctor I recommend in there is Keith Ward.i was also refused a chest tray to see the damage from smoking on my lungs. The guidelines om the NHS state you should ask for one every 5 years of smoking. Ive been smoking for just over 10 years

Used to be good, now not really. Telephone line is non-existent. They say more than 10 people in the queue and lines don't accept more calls. Having a baby and a toddler is impossible to contact them. Asked for a prescription, and was told it would take some days. I asked an estimate, was told to call... As if the line works. This is important medication needed to be taken before major surgery and I have no idea if its ready or not! Was told that they have to many patients to be able to text them... Wow! Ask my GP works for half an hour a day, phone doesn't work and someone with no car can't be travelling just for information that could have been given on the phone. How is someone that doesn't drive supposed to contact them? Its like they are taking gagging measures sonthat the patients don't speak to them Really bad now.

Dr David Brady was an excellent doctor and a sad loss due to his well earned retirement, however I have got to say Dr John Morgan is equally excellent. A good listener, very pragmatic with excellent explanations regarding your personal issues. Really like him because of these attributes. I’ve only seen a few other doctors over the years, both of which have been good, but Dr J. Morgan is exceptionally good.

Highly recommended! I've never had any issues and they have always been helpful when I have used! Keep up the good work!
