I attended St Helens Rota GP on 10/08/2025 With my daughter who has None Verbal Autism. Due to being poorly she was very upset distressed and was repeatedly banging her head in the waiting room and was very disregulated. I cant thank the staff enough the lady on reception come over asked how can I help? And helped us from start to finish of the appointment. And helped navigate us into the room where the GP was carrying our daughters bag and belongings in so we could carry her into the toom to see the Doctor. The same lovely receptionist came in with a drink for our daughter and was absolutely amazing every step of the way supporting us as parents and most importantly our daughter. The GP we seen was absolutely lovely we attended due to an Eczma flare up after my daughter had sufferd a cold and it wasn't keeping at bay with her creams prescribed by dermatology. Doctor checked and gave her some medication to help with the flare up and also done a quick ear examination to find our daughter also had an ear infection in her right Ear. I cant thank all staff at St Helens Rota GP enough for the help support and also kindness and compassion if Everley could say thank you I know she deffinately would. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping us to help Everley on Sunday. Thank you very much Charlene "Everley's mum"

Booked my daughter in today for an appointment as we had seen puss covering her tonsils and she had the usual temperature, lethargy ect (family as a whole suffer with tonsillitis) seen a nurse practitioner who was adamant there was no puss in her tonsils. Eventually agreed to prescribe antibiotics for her and specifically said a 10 day course, get to the chemist for them to say she's only prescribed her a 5 day course. After ringing the out of hours back the receptionist bluntly informed us that was all she was willing to prescribe because there was no puss. I dont know what she was looking at because we can still clearly see the puss covering her tonsils. So now I'm going to have to waste more nhs time making an appointment at our own doctors when they reopen to get her the correct dosage of medication

After being sick for three weeks, I no longer had a fever, but I developed severe back pain along with intense coughing, which felt like pneumonia, as I had experienced before. -> The doctor simply told me I would continue coughing for another 2-3 weeks but assured me there were no issues with my lungs (3 weeks more coughing? is that normal to say? is it bird flue??) However, I soon found myself unable to move or walk and had to sleep sitting on the sofa in pain for three nights. Eventually, I visited the walk-in center, where they only listened and prescribed strong antibiotics. Despite this, I ended up in the hospital for a week with severe heart palpitations, a serious chest infection, and low oxygen levels. The doctor at the clinic seemed to be there just for the paycheck, likely close to retirement. I wouldn't recommend this place unless absolutely necessary...

Would give 0 stars if I could. Got sent to see an “advanced nurse practitioner” for tonsillitis even though I asked for a *doctors appointment*. She said she would only give me antibiotics “if I waited for a while and came back if it got worse” With a history of over 10 years worth of medical issues/diagnosis’ and useless appointments and delays made by staff such as this, I can safely say I do not trust a single one of them. Better off going to see a pharmacist for many issues as they don’t seem to use these ridiculous delay tactics for the sake of meeting targets. If the NHS is being run into the ground, I wish they’d hurry up so we can use a system that actually treats the problem instead of having us go round and round in circles.

I initially contacted the surgery, clearly stating from the start that I was unable to attend in person that evening. After waiting for three hours, I finally received a phone call from the Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Chloe. She insisted that I would need to come into the surgery, despite my explanation of my medical history and recent blood test supporting my case. Chloe’s response was dismissive and unhelpful, and she refused to consider my situation. She claimed that no medication could be prescribed without an in-person consultation. While I understand the need for policies, Chloe's refusal to acknowledge that trust policies might differ from her personal stance was frustrating. It was evident that Chloe was more focused on enforcing her own version of procedures than on listening to the patient’s needs. Her tone and approach came across as more about maintaining control than offering appropriate care or flexibility. In fact, it felt as though Chloe mistook her role for one of higher authority than it was, showing a lack of empathy and understanding for the patient’s medical history. This experience was incredibly disappointing and left me feeling that Chloe’s professionalism and ability to handle patient concerns are severely lacking.

Absolutely disgusting service. Boundary road closed so had to go through town which meant I arrived 5 minutes late for my 2 year old to be seen only to be told they run on a 5 min cut off so I couldn’t have the appointment even though next appointment wasn’t until 10 minutes later. Where is the common sense and the effort to at least try and see my 2 year old in the time left. They always have us waiting at least 20 minutes to be seen anyway so alright for them ey.

Had to leave work in order to take my sister to them, rang them we are on the way and will be late. We had an emergency appointment btw, as my sister just had covid and asthmatic and now she can’t breathe properly. We’ve ran 12 minutes late. They did not let us in, receptionist was absolutely rude, kept telling me it is not her problem. Yeah, I guess you right, it just your job, you might as well getting paid to fob people off, 0 respect towards us, 0 customer service. So now we might need and ambulance, and I lost over half of my wage for Today. Brilliant service, do not go there!!!!

Called for an emergency appointment for my son at 6pm only got a call back at 9 and 11. My son was fast asleep at that point. 1 hour after I waited for the phone call I decided to just take him to the walk in centre as something in myself was telling me to get him seen as soon as! We then discovered that he was having a reaction to something he had ate. Thank god I didn’t wait all that time to finally have a phone consultation god knows what could of happened to my son. This service used to be great but it’s gone terribly downhill.
