Absolutely fantastic service. My 3 year old daughter was seen yesterday with a urinary infection. The ANP was so thorough examining her and taking a history. She provided clear advice about what to do if she didn’t improve. Thanks very much.

Absolute disgrace 2 year old grandson sat and kept waiting for 4 plus hours vomiting in the waiting room not well and made to wait no areas for children and parents shame on you Widnes walk in you tell me over the phone in a rude manner you don’t have preferential treatment well I’m sorry how rude I’m not asking that but surely a 2 year old baby vomiting and made to sit waiting 4 hours plus is a little of a priority!!!!! Can’t get a gp appointment so have to go the walk in it’s a disgrace and so wrong when you have others sat there with ingrowing toenails and they seen before a vomiting 2 year old!!!! Wow absolute disgrace nhs is doomed and avoid the walk in with a baby go straight to AE

Impossible to get treated as only give advice and fob you off to another center or hospital. Told me go St Helens for a tetanus gab even tho they could see was needed as they not have a nurse on duty. Been over 2-3 weeks now and no nurses at all there, told awaiting new nurses to come in. So if want to wait 4 hours to get LOOKED at and sent away this is the URGENT care widnes offer you.

I attended the Widnes Drop in Centre today, 29 September 2025. I found the staff to be dedicated, helpful and friendly, they gave me good care, dressed my leg wound, issued me with penicillin, and other relevant meds and sign posted me to use Treatment Room Care for further fresh dressings. There was however a shortage in staffing levels so the staff on duty were obviously under pressure. I can confirm that if anybody has had bad experiences it is not because of the lack of dedication from the staff, they must be run off their feet because it was very busy and I did have approx’ a 2 hour wait to be seen.

A disgrace to the nursing profession. A complaint to the Care quality commission is also being made. I had emergency surgery on tuesday at the hospital and require wound packing and redressing every day. I was told by bath street to attend a walk in centre as they couldn't fit me in for 2 weeks. I attended widnes urgent treatment centre on 27.08.25 and saw a lovely nurse, very warm, welcoming, could see how much pain I was in even in the waiting room, pulled the curtain across to keep me decent, got me some couch roll to keep me covered, gave me entenox because she know how much pain I was about to be in to unpack the wound and repack it, explained to me how deep the wound actually was from the abscess and how rare and unlucky it was to get it where I'd had it, she explained it was going to be a long and painful recovery but i would be looked after, sent me on my way and told me to come back tomorrow. I attended today, and what an absolute utter disgrace, I was seen by a nurse called Amanda, fortunately my sister was in attendance with me who witnessed the disgusting lack of care and compassion, who greeted me with a sharp hello, chewing a mint, told me to "just get on the bed" (no cover on over me legs, the wound is in a very intimate area, no curtain pulled across to keep what little dignity I have left) I had to pull the couch roll on the bed myself, and started to pull the curtain across myself, I was accused of having a low pain threshold when in fact the surgeon who saw me at whiston hospital said I had an extremely high pain threshold and did really well given how bad the abscess is, Amanda was very sarcastic, clearly didnt believe how much pain I knew I was going to be in, said that they dont give entenox for these cases which I know is a complete lie (ive worked in healthcare for 10 years) and I was given it the previous day and told specifically they would make sure the tank was full ready for the next day, this didnt happen. My sister also tried to explain, who was with me the previous day and saw how traumatic and painful the repack wasI was then sarcastically told that other people dont have this reaction to wound packing, which is find completely insulting and false as I've seen plenty, after Amanda took the packing out, realised how much pain I was actually in, soon changed her tune and sarcastically asked "have I forgiven her yet" to which I just didnt respond out of pure trauma. I was offered a dissolvable gel instead of repacking the wound, it was no surprise they didn't have any in stock, they've left the wound unpacked which the hospital said quite clearly not to do, and just reapplied a dressing while we wait for the gel to arrive the following day. I will not be having any gel inserted into the wound until ive spoken with the surgeon at the hospital as I have complete lack of faith in the nurse here now after this experience. I may have to revisit A&E to habe it packed instead depending what the hospital say. There was a total lack of empathy, an insulting amount of sarcastic and unnecessary comments and not believing how much pain I knew and others knew I was in and going to be in having had this procedure done before. I have never been so ashamed of the NHS service because of this one nurses actions and utter lack of compassion. I will be taking the further with the Care quality commission.

Took my 1 year old and they barely looked at him and said he was fine just a cold. Got to see our usual GP and he does have a chest infection as we thought. If they had actually listened and took time to examine him properly they may not have misdiagnosed a baby. Surely anyone in the medical profession would know how dangerous untreated infections can become in children. Unprofessional staff on reception laughing hysterically while the waiting room is full of unwell people.

Both triage Nurse and Nurse who examined me were both very unpleasant - not what you want when you aren't well. I appreciate they are very busy but this is not acceptable. Left without any treatment because apparently I didn't fit the criteria for an x-ray.

Absolutely incredible care given this evening. I went to whiston hospital and told there was a 7 hour wait which I couldn’t do as I had to get home for my husband who was recovering from spinal surgery. I went to our walk in at 7pm and was triaged, x-rays and follow up within the hour. Thank you to the wonderful nurse and reception staff who supported me tonight. No words can thank you enough. Xxxxx

I have been referred to the detal care here as I am terrified on the dentist. There is free parking available on site including disabled parking. Recently they had a cancellation and they were able to squeeze me in. Even just a consultation scars the life out of me, but I arrived for my appointment. The staff here were absolutely amazing with me and helped to keep me calm. They explained everything that would happen and worked hard to come up with the best decision for me. The staff were so friendly and did not make me feel insecure about my fears.

The staff at the Urgent treatment center was helpful, polite, payed attention and treated me with respect and in the best possible way. I had a thorough exam and every bit of information given about self-care and what’s next. For a first time I had really amazing experience. Keep up the good job Ladies
