Lovely rooms, enjoyed the rocking chair, comfy bed, walk in shower, very clean. It is next to the railway so some train noise overnight.
I stayed here for 3 nights in April 2025. I had a big room which had a microwave and a fridge. Real milk provided to go with the tea/coffee which is so much better than those UHT things that you normally get. Breakfast was generous and very good, they keep their own free range chickens so the eggs were particularly nice and I brought half a dozen home with me. We were made to feel very welcome by Alex and we’ll be staying there next time we’re taking a trip up this way.
This place was the UK's best kept secret! We will be telling everyone about it. It even had its own turtles. The food was great, the service above and beyond and we will definitely plan to be back at some stage. A great family running a great place.
Fantastic stay at Ash House and lovely service from Sue. We were 3 cyclists on a Land's End to John O Groats trip and Sue's hospitality was exactly what we needed after a long day in the saddle. Highly recommend!
We were a family with young child and were very happy to stay here, it's a lovely location on the edge of a small village. Our host was friendly and helped where she could, including directions to avoid roadworks in the area. The breakfast was excellent with local produce, beds were comfortable and the room and facilities were great. We were able to use the garden, though careful supervision was needed of our little one as it is a working farm. It is near a railway line so anyone keen on trains would get a bonus.
Lovely place. Traditional Farm house with stunning gardens. Well worth a stop over if you want a warm welcome and a hearty fresh breakfast.
Life gets no better than this: a glorious working farm in Cheshire's rolling acreage, a Georgian farmhouse beautifully preserved, cherished, and furnished with impeccable taste . .. and a home-from-home for anyone in need of 5* service at anything but a 5* cost. In fact, star ratings don't mean anything here because this oh-so comfortable and welcoming 6-bedroom B&B offering is so complex of character as to defy classification: country house with rolling lawns? Got it. Working farm with cattle roaming a lush countryside? Got it. Accessible haven within easy reach of some of England's finest rural attractions and thriving cities (Chester, Liverpool, Manchester)? Got it. Above all though, a house that's a home to Sue and Fred, and a home very probably quite unlike anything you've ever experienced. We visited for the first time this week (April 2016.) And yes, as Arnold said, we'll be back. Ash House Farm is absolutely. . . unbeatable.
